Well done to Mrs Hurst’s Y6 class who have been extremely busy raising awareness and money for their class cause: Zero Hunger. They have been supporting the children’s charity UNICEF since September and through their sponsored read have earned a whopping £410 to help children around the world . They read as much as they could over a course of a week and certainly showed dedication and commitment to their project. 👏⭐️ 📕 💰

Y3 have loved Book Week and focusing on differences. We have explored what beauty is, how we are all different and how we can use positive affirmations to help us on our journey through life. Of course, we also loved dressing as book characters yesterday and performing an African dance today! 🌈📚🌻🌺

Mrs Hurst’s class have thoroughly enjoyed their book week this week. They have explored the book Varmints to underpin the theme of difference. They have also looked at world movements and created online art work in the style of Banksy to raise awareness of these. 📕 ⭐️

Year 6 have had a busy week this week. They have volunteered at their local pantry to show help towards their community. In art, they took part in macro photography and learned how to edit pictures too. They started their new English unit this week and immersed themselves into their book through looking at clues.

In Year 6, we started the week with some fantastic achievements on Reading Plus with lots of children moving up to a new level. In science, we have been learning about healthy lifestyles. As part of this, we took part in a range of exercises and then recorded our heart rate using BPM. We created some fantastic montages in our art lesson. Finally, some children led a thoughtful parent led worship on courage. Well done 🌟⭐️
Some girls from Years 5 and 6 were invited to attend a Girls ‘into the game’ cricket festival by Lancashire Cricket and School Games at Lowton High School
We began the day by practicing our batting, fielding and bowling skills. After developing the skills, we put them into action by playing matches against other schools. It was a fantastic opportunity to build our confidence, improve our teamwork and enjoy some competition.
