Last week our Sixth Form girls competed in the Peterborough Schools Netball Tournament at AMVC. The girls played five fantastic games, securing four wins throughout the tournament.

They finished joint first with Kings on points, with the final position unfortunately decided by goal difference. 🥇
Despite their excellent performance, the girls narrowly missed out by just 3 goals.

A fantastic achievement and a brilliant effort from everyone involved. Well done, girls! 🙌

🌟 SWADSE – Spend Wednesday Afternoon Doing Something Else! 🌟

Following the introduction of the Department for Education's Enrichment Benchmarks in June, Sir Harry Smith Sixth Form has launched its exciting new enrichment programme, SWADSE (Spend Wednesday Afternoon Doing Something Else).

This week saw all Sixth Form students participate in their first enrichment sessions, with a fantastic range of activities including 🛶 canoeing, raft building, climbing, archery, paddleboarding, 🎨 arts and crafts, crocheting, sport and volunteering.

Students are also supporting younger pupils, volunteering in our library and Aspire Learning Hub, and working with local primary schools and Hermitage Care Home. 💙

These experiences enable students to make meaningful contributions to their community while developing the confidence, communication skills, and sense of social responsibility that will serve them throughout their lives.

🤝 We are also looking for local businesses, charities, community groups and individuals who would like to support our growing programme through work experience, volunteering, mentoring, guest speakers, workshops or community projects.

📖 Read the full article on our school website for more information about SWADSE and how you could get involved. https://www.sirharrysmith.cambs.sch.uk/news/?pid=3&nid=3&storyid=101

🌟 Welcome to our new Year 7's!

They have already made an excellent start and are settling in nice and quickly. They are showing kindness and respect to their peers and teachers. 🫶 We look forward to getting to know them more as the term progresses.

This morning they were treated to a celebratory breakfast 🥐 with Mr Thornton in the canteen during form time. This was to reward their excellent enthusiasm and positive attitudes. What a great way to start the day! 🤩
