When faced with a tricky question, I always ask my students to tell me what they already know and try to apply that knowledge. Of course, little tips and tricks also help!

One of my students has decided to put his persuasive writing techniques to good use!

Lots of fun was had exploring the world of creative advertising, playing with words and persuading me to buy their products!

Teaching students to draw the maths problem often helps them to visual it and understand what the question is asking. Breaking it down into small steps also helps.

Students practise checking change using real money, mental maths, number bonds, drawing number lines and check their own answers.

I love it when students educate me about their special interests!

Students look at the many techniques advertisers use to persuade different audiences to buy their products.

Students finished & edited their formal letters. Some wrote them by hand, while others, who find handwriting tricky, preferred to type them. I think they all did a brilliant job.

Students have been recapping place value, rounding and intervals to help with mental maths

Students have also been looking at key features of a formal letter and have started drafting their ideas.
