My fave London days are when I coincide with this guy. Lovely to see you bro ❤️
Do we look alike?! I still can’t see it….. 👀
I help mid-life mums quit drinking, whilst still living a full life.

Thank you , and all the other party planners for a brilliant Rainbow Beach party. We had rain, but we also had Whitney. 🌈

❤️Happy IWD to the women I love and to the men who love us and support us. ❤️
I do NOT wish a happy *anything* to the women who pull up the ladder / are part of the problem / wear a red MAGA hat / tell me any food is “naughty” / protest outside abortion clinics / call their husbands “hubby” (or go on holibobs)*. Soz ladies.
*ok, I can probably forgive this one. But not the others. S**t female bosses are my particular bugbear. The rest of you, have a great day! Love from me, and also love from 15 year old me, who has some fun ahead of her ❤️

🎈 45 🎈 is hiking, cakes, sea swims, kid cuddles, early nights, a bit more headspace, the bestest friends and more coffee than is strictly necessary. I’ll take it 🎁

It’s blue Monday. But it’s also orange Monday. Shut off the news if it’s going to steal your happiness today. Go easy on yourself remember that, mostly, humans are good and kind. That’s what I’m trying really hard to remember. You can read more ways to keep your joy today here 👉 https://annasudburysober.substack.com/p/blue-monday (clickable link in Stories)

🗓️ Dry January. Everyone telling you how “good” they are being. Everyone staying in, hunkering down. That’s great. But that’s not what life is like if you don’t drink alcohol.
🪩 I still go out. I love dancing. I see my friends. I do everything I did when I was drinking (excluding all the hangover crap).
🤔 So don’t be fooled. If you are doing Dry January and thinking “is this it??”, it really isn’t. January is an anomaly. We’re all eating broccoli and working out. It’s great, but it’s not going to be like this the whole year. And not drinking isn’t going to be like this the whole year either.
🙄 So if Dry January feels flat, don’t be fooled. That’s January. Nothing to do with the ‘dry’ at all.
( 📸 🐕 picture completely unrelated to post, but if anyone knows how to hunker down in front of the fire, it’s this guy ❤️)

End of term at a Christmas hits different. It’s BUSY. Multiple events, often multiple schools, often multiple kids. But it doesn’t have to go the way it went last year. You don’t have to get to Christmas frazzled, hungover and a wee bit broken (me, 2003-2018!). It’s so much nicer this way ❤️💙🤶🏼

✨ The power of AND ✨
🪩 I went out last night. AND I ran 10k in the woods today. 7 years ago I’d have had to chose one of them. The hangover would have meant that I couldn’t do the run. So I’d have missed out on the night out. Or I’d have skipped the run. Whatever the equation, I couldn’t have it all. 💃🏻 🏃♀️
And now I can. I can go out, go dancing, see friends, and enjoy myself. AND I can go for a run in the woods, soak up autumn sunshine, scoff Jaffa Cakes at the finish line AND be home in time to have a Lego afternoon with the kids. 👦🏼 👦🏻
If you are missing out because your drinking limits your life, you don’t have to. You can unlock the AND. It’s so lovely to do so!! Happy weekend ❤️🍁

It feels pretty bleak. It feels out of control, and inhumane, and tone-deaf. Lots of us are having a really sh*tty day trying to explain this to our kids, whilst being incapable of understanding it ourselves.
Be kind to yourself. Take a walk. Eat good food. Phone a friend. Go to bed on time. Mute the news.
And think carefully before adding alcohol, a known depressant and significant driver of anxiety, to this sh*tty political cocktail. You might think it helps - science has proven that it doesn’t. Be kind to yourself out there. 💙❤️

Q: What’s scarier than Halloween? 🎃
A: Being stuck in the same drink 🔁 shame 🔁 regret cycle and never getting unstuck.
A: Feeling ‘meh’ all the time and only feeling good when you are 2 drinks in (which goes by drink 4)
A: Not living the life you want because a hangover traps you on the sofa so you skip brunch/ yoga / baking with the kids.
If all or any of these speak to you, you aren’t alone. But it’s possible to get unstuck. 👻 Let me show you how. 👀

Hello hello. More like this please. Sun over the school playing fields, kids kicking a ball, I’m eating crisps and chatting with the parent crew. It’s calm. It’s easy. It’s rolling us into the weekend. It is so nice to start the weekend without the wallop of alcohol. It only gets better from here. See you soon, Saturday 🌞
PS salt and vinegar crisps are the best. By miles. So tangy. The best use of a potato. 🥔
