Samarpana Dance Academy The Academy was founded by Preetha Arun, a student of Adyar Sri K Lakshman in 1998, with the mission Smt. R. Adyar K.Lakshman belonging to that great institution.

Preetha Arun, a disciple of Guru Padmashri Adyar K.Lakshman and Smt. Rhadha founded the Samarpana Dance Academy in 1998 to propogate and preserve the pristine purity of traditional technique in classical Bharatanatyam. In this centre Preetha Arun imparts the Kalakshetra style as handed over to her by one of the senior most exponents Sri. Preetha conducts and trains students in a multi faceted appr

oach by infusing skills in dance, yoga, theory and mythology that are crucial in developing the students in to a full fledged artist. Many senior students have completed their debut performance successfully.

​Over 300 devoted students of Samarpana Dance Academy have spent months in silent sadhana, refining every mudra, perfecting every araimandi, and aligning their heartbeat to the cosmic rhythm of Lord Nataraja. On this morning, all that discipline, devotion, and collective energy unite on one grand stage for SHIVANJALI—a sacred offering celebrating the eternal dance of Lord Shiva.

​From our youngest dancers stepping into the light to our seasoned seniors weaving intricate jathis, this showcase is a vibrant testament to tradition, passion, and artistic lineage under the guidance of Smt. Preetha Arun.

We are incredibly proud to share this breathtaking piece performed by our talented Deepya, who spent hours perfecting the delicate balance between the demanding araimandi posture and the weightless twirl of the hula hoop. Bharatanatyam already demands unwavering stamina and precision, and introducing a prop of this nature requires an entirely new level of spatial awareness and grace. It is a true joy to witness my students pushing the boundaries of their rigorous classical training to create something so uniquely captivating.
