I am a highly motivated and dedicated teacher with 37 years of experience in the teaching profession, where I have fulfilled the roles of Assistant Headteacher and Head of Department for Geography. Until my recent retirement, I taught at Valentines High School judged as outstanding schools by Ofsted and am currently doing some part teaching, leading field studies trips and run bespoke revision sessions during school holidays. I also have the ability to teach Spanish and French at Key Stage 3. I demand the highest standards from myself and my students and I believe that with my deep passion and determined commitment to education, combined with my wealth of experience, I can ensure, that I will endeavour to provide your child every opportunity to reach their full academic potential.
I am a highly experienced teacher, having taught GCSE and A level geography for the last 37 years and have also been an A level examiner.
Through my teaching career, I have developed a tried and tested method to ensure exam success. This encompasses the following features:
- ensuring my students have a clear understanding of the content covered.
- Instil practical and thorough revision techniques
- Ensuring my students are able to effectively apply their knowledge to meet the requirements of the exam question, to gain maximum marks, through continual focus on exam technique.
I also have an extensive knowledge of the content and exam requirements of the new specifications especially for Edexcel, but am able to adapt to syllabi from other exam boards. My students have consistently gained excellent exam grades at GCSE and A level and many have gone onto to study geography at Oxbridge and Russell Group universities.
I am available to teach week day evenings but can be flexible. I am teaching part time teaching in east London, so would also be willing to tutor students in that area also.
