We are currently looking for a Maths Teacher to join our team in Bromley Independent Grammar School. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing pupil learning through effective teaching and implementation of the department’s schemes

ABOUT THE POSITION
- To manage pupil learning through effective teaching and implementation of the Department’s schemes of work and policies.
- To ensure continuity, progression, and cohesiveness in all teaching.
- To use a variety of methods and approaches (including differentiation) to match curricular objectives and the range of pupil needs and ensure equal opportunity for all pupils.
- To work with SEN staff and support staff (including prior discussion and joint planning) to benefit from their specialist knowledge and to maximise their effectiveness within lessons.
- To set high expectations for all pupils, and staff, to deepen their knowledge and understanding and to maximise their achievement.
- To use positive management of behaviour in an environment of mutual respect which allows pupils to feel safe and secure and promotes their self-esteem.
- Working with the Pastoral Leader and wider pastoral team to encourage good behaviour and a positive attitude from all students.
- To assess pupils’ work systematically and use the results to inform future planning, teaching and curricular development.
- To be familiar with statutory assessment and reporting procedures and to prepare and present informative, helpful, and accurate reports to parents.
- Part of this role will involve safeguarding responsibilities including the reporting of any safeguarding concerns to the Designated Safeguarding Team
ABOUT YOU
You will be an experienced KS3 & 4 teacher who is outstanding in the classroom, understanding that these are the crucial years towards the GCSE and A level examinations. Our classes are small with an emphasis on individual attention and we aim for our students to leave us as confident, happy, articulate and enthusiastic individuals.
Whether you are an NQT or seasoned practitioner, the key quality we are searching for is the ‘wow factor’ in the classroom – can you grab the attention of the whole class and keep it whilst delivering outstanding teaching to each student? Are you prepared to think carefully about how to enhance your lessons, your classroom and your pastoral care? Candidate:
- Truly exceptional KS3 & 4 teacher
- Ambition and vision for developing our school.
- Able to motivate and develop a class of learners.
- Outstanding communication skills.
- Solid understanding of schools and commitment outside the classroom.
- Experienced & outstanding teacher (applications are also welcomed from NQT’s)
- Excellent computer skills
- A good first degree in a relevant discipline.
- PGCE or other teaching qualification
Contract Type: Full time, Permanent
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday
Salary: £32,000 – £36,000 per annum
