This week, Year 8 students had the privilege of visiting the Gurdwara Guru Nanak Parkash as part of their learning in their Sikhi unit.
During the visit, students explored the prayer hall, learned about the importance of the Guru Granth Sahib, visited the Langar hall, and developed their understanding of Sikh beliefs and practices. They had the opportunity to ask questions, learn about the significance of seva, and gain a deeper insight into the role of the gurdwara within the Sikh community.
Thank you to everyone at Gurdwara Guru Nanak Parkash for welcoming us and sharing their knowledge and experiences with our students. It was a valuable opportunity to bring classroom learning to life. Gurdwara Guru Nanak Parkash

Making a Difference – Secondary School of the Year 🏆
We are incredibly proud to announce that Blue Coat Church of England School and Music College has been named a Silver Winner in the Pearson National Teaching Awards' Making a Difference – Secondary School of the Year category.
This is one of the highest honours a school can receive nationally and places Blue Coat among just six secondary schools across the country recognised for their exceptional impact on young people and their communities.
As a Silver Winner, Blue Coat will now progress to the national finals in November, where the Gold Award winners will be announced at a prestigious ceremony and showcased on BBC One's The One Show.
Headteacher Lisa Wright said: "To receive this recognition on Thank a Teacher Day makes it even more special. It gives us a genuine opportunity to thank every single member of our staff community for the difference they make every day. This award belongs to all of them."
Congratulations to our staff, students, families, governors and partners who have helped make this incredible achievement possible. 💙

Eco-Ambassadors - Today, a group of 44 Eco-Ambassadors welcomed a visit from the John Muir Trust. The Trust is exploring opportunities to further develop areas near the school site in partnership with the Coventry Charterhouse and the National Trust as a part of a new Heritage Park. It was fascinating to learn about the wildlife that surrounds the school, as well as the environmental challenges, such as littering, that are being actively addressed.
