“Hi. My name is Sabine and I just wanted to tell you how useful I found the ACS Distance Education Equine Behaviour course.
I am a counsellor and have been a foster carer for traumatised children for nine years. I have watched how the children benefited from their interaction with my horses.
Together with other courses and professional qualifications the ACS course gave me a great foundation to start my own dream business.
The name of my business is Hillview Equine Assisted Learning. I use an experiential therapy based on the interaction and communication between humans and horses.
I feel grateful to my horses every day, as they willingly team up with me to teach important life skills to children who had a tough start in life and deserve every bit of help we can give them.”

Congratulations to Sam Finch on winning the Young Horticulturalist of the Year for 2026.
On winning, Sam said, “I'm so pleased to have won the YHoY competition, I'd encourage anyone who's eligible to have a go, everyone is always lovely and there's always something to learn!”
In research by the Australian Garden Council, they found that only 1.68% of gardeners were aged 18 – 24, so it’s great to see young people, like these finalists being so involved in learning more about horticulture.
Do any horticulturalists out there have any advice on how we can encourage more young people to get involved in horticulture?
