Tutoring can often be surprisingly affordable if you have several children needing support and in the same year group. I am happy to tutor small groups of children and often find this helps them to make faster progress. If your child has a friend who also needs support it may be worth thinking about teaming up.

Now that SAT's are over for this year I have a few openings for new students.

It's a glorious half term, the weather for once is being kind so I hope everyone is managing to get some time out of doors ready for the final push to the summer holidays.

Children need to have a reading age of 16 in order to fully access GCSE exams. Shockingly, many children are reading below this level which makes it very hard to achieve the results they deserve.

Demand for tutoring is at an all time high, but do you know what support your child needs?
Before engaging a tutor your first step should be to talk to your child's teacher.
Where are they in relation to their peers?
What are their strengths and in what areas could they do with some extra support?
What are the goals for your child?
Ensuring a tutor has that information will mean that sessions can be tailored to cover exactly what is required.
This means quicker results - because let's face it, tutoring isn't cheap and you really don't want to waste time going over topics in which your child is already proficient.
