Mulch Mulch Mulch. We cultivate organic matter into new flower beds when we prepare for new planting. This adds needed nutrients and helps retain moisture. We then add organic matter to the top of the flower bed once planted. This helps continue to feed the soil, suppress weeds and HELP RETAIN MOISTURE. Never has it been more valuable than this year against the many heat waves. Where you can, add mulch. I have used Thompsons Of Crews Hill Ltd for 20 years. This is called “Mulch and Mix”. Other suppliers sell Soil Conditioner which is lighter. Both will help your soil retain moisture.

Finished front drive garden.

Purple leaves Cotinus, cream hydrangeas and white roses will grow to 4ft to help absorb the stretch of brick. Plenty to distract the eye and more pleasing front of house.
