Within the Walls Garden Project Community project set in the beautiful walled garden, where people can come together share skills, kno This space is ready to see a new lease of life.

Imagine a space within a large walled garden, walls which have stood for many many years, sometimes surrounding a flourishing kitchen garden supplying fresh vegetables for the householders and local community and at other times left fallow to grass over and supply the bees and insects with pollen. We would like to see children and young people from Hitchin and the surrounding area coming together with older people to share skills, knowledge, experience, perspective and to create memories. From the very basics of preparing the ground and sowing seeds, to weeding, watering and harvesting. Bring your own seeds and see your own hard work flourish into edible goodness! We would like to involve:

School children aged from 4 to 11 years
young people aged 11-18 eligible for pupil premium funding or who are NEET
Adult volunteers who-
are unemployed
are retired
have some spare time

Our next gardening club for home educating families will be taking place on Tuesday 12th May from 10:30 - 12:30 at in Whitwell, Hitchin.

This session will involve getting a bed prepped for our summer crops, hopefully planting out the sunflowers we sowed in March and continuing work on our wildflower area. They’ll also be a craft based activity.

All ages are welcome and tickets only need to be booked for children.

To book your tickets you can follow the link in my bio or message me and I can send you details 🌱
