Donβt forget to wrap your presents π in brown paper this year
And Iβm selling brown gift tags π· & bakers twine π this year too
Let me know if you want to swap the plastic packet from the tags for a paper one or bring your own. (I can reuse the plastic bag for new stock)
see pinned post to see what craft fairs Iβm doing this year π¨ - just posting it up now
Start saving early for Christmas: can you switch to reusable brown paper?
Brown paper packages tied up with string (and with paper and string reused, or the paper recycled with cardboard) are, of course, one of our favourite things.
Itβs classic, classy and better than lots of unrecyclable wrapping paper made of plastic, foil, holograms, glitter and so on.
And brown paper - also known as kraft paper or parcel wrap - is often itself already made from recycled paper and cardboard.
(BTW, it can also be far cheaper than wrapping paper.)
But where in Somerset can you buy this recycled, recyclable, reusable, easily decorated packaging staple?
Sure, you could order online or click and collect.
The Post Office has nine ways to buy plain brown paper online, from Β£1.27 for four metres to Β£34.79 for 250 metres: https://www.postofficeshop.co.uk/IWProductSearchSolr.process?RestartFlow=t&searchAction=MainSearch&allchecked=0&num_rows=20&query=brown%20paper%20roll

But to avoid internet delivery packaging and charges, firms of which you do not approve, and your money going elsewhere, are there local brown paper bargains in your town, village or (yes, Wells residents) city? As well as local post offices, do add your suggestions (and pictures of your packages!) in the comments below.
PS: Watch out for the campaign against single-use wrapping paper. And for other reusable options, think unwrapped presents in reusable bags or boxes, or using fabric, such as the Japanese practice of furoshiki or this modern version: https://www.wragwrap.com/.
