Another set of changes and two more debutants for the year 9 team but they still took three points with a 4-2 win against Trinity! Well done to all the boys involved so far this year. It’s been a great squad effort. Biggest test for us on Friday as the Cup squad take on Bonus Pastor in the last 16 of Kent.

7s drew the short straw but braved the cold whilst the 9s battled hard in the warmth. Players of the match: Devine and Kendra. Great play against St Caths this evening and good spirits throughout the game. 7s had plenty of practice in time for their Christmas tournament on Thursday.

Well done to the year 10 rugby team, who won a thrilling match against Hurstmere 39-33. Tries from James (3), Rotimi (2) and Manni and Stelios were enough to secure the win in the gloom. Well played

The year 9’s extend their unbeaten run after a top of the league clash with local rivals Welling. The boys did the basics right and took control early from a physical Welling team eventually running out 5-1 victors.

The Year 10 A&B Netball teams secured two wins against St Matthews Academy this afternoon in very cold conditions. The A team won 9-1 with the Darina named as player of the match for her excellent shooting and movement through court, whilst the B team won 6-3. Naima was voted player of the match for her fantastic defensive skills. Well done all!

This motley crew from year 9 saw 4 debutants run out this year for BGS helping us continue our unbeaten run for the season defeating Bexleyheath Academy 5-2.

What a win! The year 8 rugby team battled to a 30-25 win over Hurstmere in a brilliant game on Wednesday afternoon. 2 tries each from Velizar, Alfie and Daniel were just enough for the win. Well played boys

Year 8 are out working on their fitness this morning. It’s a beautiful day

Well done to the year 9 rugby team, who played really well in beating Bexleyheath Academy 45-19 on Tuesday. Tries from Valentino (4), Ikenna (2) and Joshua sealed the win. Well done to Jonah and his phenomenal tackling on his debut, too

A proud BGS year 8 football squad at the end of a North Kent match against Beths. This was a brilliant and ruthless performance in which they were able to take an early lead and build on it during the first half. The rest of the game demonstrated a real maturity and team ethos. The style of football was great to watch and BGS ended up winning 7-1. Keep up the amazing work!

Great to see lots of boys at year 7 & 8 rugby training on Monday. There’s a busy run of games, so the practice will be useful

An impressive second half performance secured a 7-2 victory for our Year 8 football squad. Goalscorers often take most of the credit, but this was a real team performance and the defenders did a brilliant job marking the opposition's talented strike force. Well played and best of luck in the next round of the Kent Cup!

A dominant display by the Year 9 football team today to book their place in the last 16 of Kent, running out 11-0 winners over Cleeve Park. Special mention to Maks who scored a hat-trick.

We were really proud of the year 10 rugby team today. They never stopped fighting in a 47-29 defeat, and scored a fantastic try in the last play of the game. These boys always represent Bexley GS brilliantly, win or lose.

A superb fighting performance saw the year 7 squad claim a fantastic win against Cleeve Park on Tuesday. After falling behind 2-0 the team finished up 4-2 winners, and there were some wild celebrations. A brilliant game that was extremely entertaining to watch!

A win, a loss this afternoon for our netballers! Eventful game of netball but super keen girls playing a friendly against Trinity school tonight. Looking smart in their netball kits too. Well done ladies 👍

The year 8 rugby team faced a strong Buller’s Wood team this afternoon and produced some excellent rugby in a 50-25 defeat. Daniel’s hat trick was very impressive, but lots of players played really well today.

Year 10 are starting their sport education unit this half term. 8 weeks of white hot competition in teams. Looking forward to it….

A first game win! Well done to the year 7 rugby team, who beat Beths 20-15 thanks to tries from Jean-Andre, Ryan and Kevin (2). For 15 of the 16 player squad it was their first ever rugby match. Well done

A brave and battling performance from our Year 7 football squad in the North Kent Cup. We lost to Welling School 2-0 in a very entertaining match. Well done to all involved and congratulations to those players representing BGS for the first time.

A tough defeat for the Year 10 rugby team away at Bennett Memorial on Wednesday. The boys scored a couple of great tries and fought hard, but it wasn’t their day.

Meet your Sports Prefects for 2023-24! You’ll be seeing this group of year 12 students a lot around the PE department this year, assisting at clubs, mentoring our GCSE students and running various events. What a fab bunch!

The year 9 rugby team did brilliantly on Monday afternoon, even with only 14 men! They roared to a 48-15 win over Wilmington GS, and scored some great tries in the process. Well played boys

What a masterclass in how to play on a windy Autumnal day! The Year 8 boys dominated the match from start to finish, keeping the ball on the floor and not letting the conditions dictate the play. Going downhill with the wind the boys secured a 2-0 lead. The second half started much the same with some excellent interplay in the midfield to keep possession going uphill and the goals flowed. Eventually running out 8-2 winners. Special mention to Josh and Yannnis scoring a brace each. Well done everyone. Roll on Round 3 of Kent

These girls battled hard defensively against a strong Bullers wood. Never gave up but wasn’t to be for BGS with a 2-0 loss. Players of the matches has to be to GK Lucia and captain Matilda. Superb defensive play!

A great win for the year 10 rugby team on Tuesday who beat Wilmington GS 67-17. Tries from Rohisan, Caspar, Harvey (2), Lewis, Rotimi (2), James (2) and Anthony sealed the win. Well played

A huge well done to our Sixth Form Netball team on their first game. With lots of new players, this very motivated group worked really hard against a strong CSGS team, despite the loss, the team showed improvement throughout the game (and great attitude too!). Well done all!

Lots of year 9&10 students at Netball training this evening, preparing for our game next week. Good luck everyone!

Despite some excellent play, the year 9 & 10 netball teams were defeated by a strong Townley Squad. Well done to all involved!

A last minute try from debutant Manis secured a brilliant 25-25 draw against our friends from Wilmington GS on Thursday. A super team performance from a big squad of 22 players was at the heart of the result. Well played boys

The year 9 rugby team played brilliantly this afternoon, but ultimately came up short against a strong Bennett Memorial team in the u14 Kent Cup. Tries from Valentino, Maks and George were not quite enough in a 36-17 defeat

It was a wet start to the Yr 9’s football season but after taking an early lead the boys never looked anything but in control of their opening Kent Cup match against Kemnal. The weather didn’t help anyone but Bexley controlled the game and were patient in taking their chances. We won 4-0 and progress to the next round of the cup. Well done all.

Our sock collection this week in the changing rooms. One pair has a name in, and is heading back to the owner. If yours are here, come and collect them before they head to charity (via the wash)
