A difficult first game of the season for our U19 Sixth Form team against Beths. Although the game was quite evenly matched the Beths team scored a great opening goal in the first minute which meant it was always going to be a challenge. It was a great effort, but we ended up falling short and losing 2-1. Plenty more games to go and a lot of positives to take from the performance.

We’re super proud of our athletes who have achieved national recognition over the summer: James (yr 10) has represented England at Badminton, and Amrit and Gabi (yr 9) have both been selected for the National Age Group Development Programme for their swimming. We celebrated our sports awards today. It was lovely to be able to say thank you to all the students who have worked so hard and represented the school and themselves so well across the year. We hope they recharge over the summer, ready to do it all again next year.

Our u15 girls are South East Regional Chance to Compete cricket champions! After going undefeated all day at the regional finals representing Kent against the strongest teams from Surrey and Middlesex, the girls secured the win with a dominant 5th win from 5 in their final game of the day. They produced some superb cricket, and should be very proud of this achievement. This is Bexley Grammar’s first regional title in girls’ cricket.

The Year 8’s took to the field for the final time this season with a friendly hardball game against St Mary Magdalene. Losing the toss we were put into bat where we put on a fine display. Arham opening the scoring with 28 (retired), Eve and Julian with 11 runs each and Diveth scoring 12 to name a few. St Mary’s took a few wickets but we batted out for 109/4. St Mary’s came out strong and had a couple of great lads leading the charge but ultimately fell short, scoring 68/3. We look forward to welcoming them back next season for the rematch.

The u12 cricket team enjoyed a final game of the season - a friendly vs Leigh Academy Blackheath. The boys put on a show, bowling our opponents out for 61, and knocking those off in just 22 balls. Shoutout to Yash for taking 3 for 10 in his first appearance of the year. Well done to all the boys on a great season.

Not one but two teams entered into the Year 7 borough rounders tournament, this is testament to the girls enthusiasm and commitment this season. They were rewarded with 1st and 5th place in the final results! Superb girls 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
