To celebrate the exciting launch of the World Cup on Thursday 11th June, Welling PTA have arranged for staff and students to wear a football shirt to school. If students do not own a football shirt, they are very welcome to wear their school PE top instead. We are asking for a voluntary donation of £1 from each participating student and staff member which can be collected by the heads of houses on the morning of 11th June.

Mabel, our therapy dog at Welling School has just unofficially interviewed for the post of "Wellbeing Officer" here at Welling School. Given her strong start and that she has been volunteering within this role for the last three months, do you think that she should get the position permanently?

Update - Thursday 8th January 2026
We are pleased to announce that the school will officially reopen to all students and staff on Thursday 8th January 2026.
Following the recent failure of our heating system and the subsequent burst pipe, our maintenance teams have worked around the clock to complete the necessary repairs. We have successfully tested the heating throughout the building and conducted a thorough safety inspection of the affected areas.
We want to express our sincere gratitude for your patience and flexibility during this unexpected closure. We understand the childcare challenges that come with a short-notice closure, and we truly appreciate your support while we worked to make the school safe.
We are very much looking forward to seeing all the children back in their classrooms.

School Closure: Wednesday 7th January 2026
The school will be closed on Wednesday 7th January to all staff and students. This is due to the ongoing faulty heating system. Engineers are working to fix the problem today and tomorrow. We have also had a burst pipe which resulted in flooding to classrooms and offices.
The exception to this is that the year 12/13 public exams will take place as scheduled.
Students in KS3 / KS4 - Please use this link to access work for the day. KS3 students should complete English, Maths and Science, KS4 students just English and Maths.
For all Y11 students, work will be set on Google Classroom by the subjects they were due to study today.
Students in KS5 will have work set on Google Classroom by the subjects they were due to study today.
The school will contact parents/carers again on Wednesday afternoon to update on plans to reopen on Thursday.
