This morning, we welcomed Hollie and Lisa, Tesco's Community Champions, into school, where they presented us with a cheque for £1500. This is a result of us winning the Tesco Stronger Starts (Blue Token) vote; we could not be more grateful to both Tesco and everybody who voted for us - thank you everyone! We cannot wait to start using the money to create a dedicated green space of calm and tranquility on our playground. 💜💛 Discover Welling

Yesterday, we celebrated World Book Day. As a school that is passionate about reading, books are at the heart of our curriculum and so we love a chance to celebrate them! We enjoyed an assembly by our Reading Ambassadors; shared a whole school text from which each class produced their own stories; had lots of special story times with surprise teachers and Reading Ambassadors; wore our book inspired designed t-shirts or costumes; and not forgetting holding our reading cafe after school.
We had a fabulous day enjoying the joy that books bring; we hope you read a story or two as well!

Last week, Year 3 visited the Greenwich Hindu Mandir as part of their RE topic on Hinduism. The trip gave the children the opportunity to see elements of what they had learned in class in real life. A huge thank you to the temple for being so accommodating and enriching the children's learning.

Pearl Class embarked on an exciting adventure from Victorian London to China during their recent trip to the Cutty Sark. Royal Museums Greenwich. They used maps, handled artefacts and read real-life letters from an apprentice to find out what life was like for merchant sailors during the Victorian times.
