Dear Parents,

A very warm welcome to all our families as we begin the new 2026–27 preschool year! 🌈

To our returning families, it’s wonderful to welcome you back, and to all our new children and parents joining us this year, we are so happy to have you as part of our preschool family.

We hope the year ahead will be filled with lots of learning, laughter, friendships and happy memories. We’re really looking forward to watching the children grow in confidence, explore new things and, most importantly, enjoy their time with us.

Thank you, as always, for your trust and support. We’re excited to start another lovely year together.

A Farewell to Our Big School Leavers

Today we say goodbye to a truly wonderful group of children. Watching each of you grow from curious little explorers into confident, kind and capable learners has been an absolute privilege.

Over your time with us you have built friendships, shown resilience, discovered new talents, and filled our days with laughter, imagination and joy. We are so proud of everything you have achieved and of the caring, unique individuals you have become.

As you begin your exciting journey to big school, remember to always be curious, be brave enough to try new things, be kind to everyone you meet, and never stop believing in yourselves. Every challenge is an opportunity to learn, and every day is a chance to shine.

Although we will miss your smiles, your stories and the happiness you brought to preschool, we know you are more than ready for this next adventure. We cannot wait to hear about all the amazing things you will accomplish.

To all our wonderful children and your families, thank you for allowing us to be part of such an important chapter in your lives. We wish you every success, happiness and friendship as you take your next steps.

There’s nothing quite like learning in the great outdoors! Today the children immersed themselves in imaginative woodland play, creating muddy potions, balancing along slacklines, exploring the forest and working together to solve problems.

These experiences support all areas of the EYFS, particularly:
Personal, Social and Emotional Development – building confidence, resilience, teamwork and friendships as children collaborate, share ideas and encourage one another.
Communication and Language – developing vocabulary, storytelling and conversation through imaginative play and shared exploration.
Physical Development – strengthening balance, coordination, core stability and fine motor skills through climbing, balancing, mixing, pouring and exploring natural materials.

Our children have been enjoying yoga and mindfulness sessions, learning how to move their bodies, slow their breathing and take a moment to relax. These activities help children develop emotional wellbeing, confidence and body awareness in a fun and engaging way.

Within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), yoga and meditation support:

💚 Personal, Social & Emotional Development – Recognising and managing emotions, building self-confidence and developing resilience.

🏃 Physical Development – Improving balance, coordination, flexibility, strength and body control through purposeful movement.

💬 Communication & Language – Listening carefully, following instructions and learning new vocabulary linked to movement and wellbeing.

🧠 Self-Regulation – Developing focus, concentration and calming strategies that help children manage their feelings and prepare for learning.

✨ These quiet moments help children understand that looking after their minds is just as important as looking after their bodies, giving them lifelong skills to support their wellbeing.

Our children have thoroughly enjoyed bringing The Scarecrow’s Wedding to life through this beautiful collaborative display. Inspired by the story, they designed colourful outfits, decorated them with their own creative ideas and proudly displayed their work.

There is something magical about outdoor learning! This week our children immersed themselves in imaginative play, creating muddy potions, exploring water, balancing, investigating natural materials and working together in our forest school.

These experiences are so much more than play—they are rich opportunities for learning and development across the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
