🌈 WE’RE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE TO JOIN SPECS! 🌈
As we prepare for the official opening of our new SPECS Sensory Room, we’re looking for a Sensory Room Session Worker to join us and help run regular sessions for our families. 💙
This would initially be a zero-hours role, expected to average around 5–6 hours per week, depending on bookings, at £13.50 per hour.
The role will include welcoming families, checking bookings, helping sessions run smoothly, resetting and tidying the sensory room between bookings, recording attendance and helping us maintain a calm, safe and welcoming environment.
We’re looking for someone who is:
💙 Friendly, patient and approachable
🌈 Reliable and able to work independently
🧩 Understanding of autism, ALN and sensory needs
👨👩👧 Comfortable working alongside children and their parents/carers
✨ Organised and happy to help with the day-to-day running of the room
Experience working with neurodivergent children or families would be an advantage, although the right attitude and understanding are just as important.
Hours may include Saturdays and school holidays.
Appointment will be subject to satisfactory references, right-to-work checks and the appropriate DBS check.
📩 Interested? Send us a private message with a little about yourself, any relevant experience and your general availability.
Please feel free to tag or share with anyone you think may be perfect for the role. 💙🌈
Our Sensory Room has been made possible thanks to funding from The National Lottery Community Fund.
