BACK TO SCHOOL NERVES? 🎒💛

Whether your little one is walking through the school gates for the very first time or heading back after the summer holidays, those back-to-school butterflies are completely normal.

Here are 3 little things you can do to help them feel more prepared 🌈

1. Let them talk about it
Ask what they’re excited about AND what they’re worried about. Sometimes simply saying it out loud can make a big worry feel much smaller.

2. Bring the routine back early
Start easing back into school-day bedtimes, wake-up times and morning routines before the big day. Knowing what to expect can help everything feel a little more familiar.

3. Focus on the little wins
Getting dressed independently, packing their bag, walking through the school gates or simply making it through that first day. Celebrate those moments. They’re BIG achievements to little people.

As the summer holidays draw to a close, we just want to say a huge thank you to every family who joined us at The Clubhouse over the holidays. 🌈💛

This summer didn’t quite look the way we originally planned, and there were changes along the way that were outside of our control. We’re incredibly grateful to the families who supported us, worked with us and continued to bring their children along to enjoy our HAF sessions.

Most importantly, the children still brought all the energy, laughter and fun we love to see at The Clubhouse, and we’ve made some brilliant memories together. From all of the team, thank you for being part of it.

Behind the scenes, we’ve also been continuing to work towards an exciting next chapter for The Clubhouse with our move to Wessington Primary School.

This is something we’ve been working on since April alongside Together for Children, the Local Authority and Wessington Primary School. Our Ofsted application to change our registered address was also submitted in April, and over the past few months we’ve been working closely together to make sure every stage of the transition is managed as carefully as possible for our children, families and staff.

There’s been a lot happening behind the scenes, and we’re really looking forward to what comes next. 💛

For now, we hope all of our families enjoy the final few days of the holidays, and we can’t wait to welcome the children back again soon. 🌈

The summer holidays are nearly over... but there’s still time for a few more adventures! ☀️🌈

If you’re running out of ideas for keeping the little ones entertained, we’re very lucky to have some gorgeous family spots right here in the North East.

🌳 Herrington Country Park for a walk, bike ride, picnic and plenty of space to burn off some energy
🌸 Saltwell Park for play areas, beautiful gardens, a picnic and a wander around the park
🌿 Rising Sun Country Park for woodland walks, wildlife spotting and outdoor adventures
🌲 Chopwell Woodland Park for a day exploring the woods
🛝 Barnes Park for a local park day, play and a family stroll
🌊 South Marine Park for a park trip followed by some seaside fun
🌳 Plessey Woods for woodland exploring, a picnic and a play

Sometimes the simplest days out make the best summer memories. Pack a picnic, grab the scooters and make the most of those last few holiday days! 💛
