We had an amazing afternoon playing to a fabulous audience at Ukes at The Globe this afternoon. Our Uke Stars joined us for the first time and were amazing! Lots of photos and videos to follow. Thank you to everyone who came to support us.

We are delighted that local lad Sam can join us at the Globe on Sunday.

Uke Elliott, also known as Sam Elliott, is a Newcastle based variety livestreamer that got his start online by documentating his journey to learn the ukulele. Starting in 2018, he now has over 100k followers. With tutorials, livestreams, subathons, and challenges, Sam continues to learn new songs everyday. Focusing on songs that you wouldn't usually hear on the uke, Sam's only aim is to try and make people smile on the internet.

We are really looking forward to our return to the Globe next Sunday. Some of our younger students will be joining us for the first time too. It’s going to be a great gig.

Thank you to everyone who came to the Washington Folk Festival at Arts Centre Washington today to spend time with the incredible Christopher Davis-Shannon. It was a truly wonderful afternoon.

Really looking forward to having Christopher Davis-Shannon at Arts Centre Washington next week as part of the Washington Folk Festival. He’s one of the finest Jazz ukulele players on the planet and also a really nice guy.

The workshop will take place in Uke School and is a pay what you feel event.

We are really looking forward to hosting Christopher Davis-Shannon as part of the Arts Centre Washington festival.
He will be appearing in the theatre followed by a pay what you feel workshop and jam in Uke School at 3:30pm.

Happy New Year.
2025 was a fantastic year at Uke School. We introduced our open mics at the Arts Centre Washington,which will continue in 2026. New students of all ages, started their ukulele journey and made excellent progress.
Our adult group the Art of Ukes performed all over the area and were joined with out fantastic Uke Stars on several occasions. We were also joined by our lovely friend George Hinchliffe and our pals The Lowest Fellas in Cullercoats, Newcastle and Washington.

We hope to be able to offer more slots for lessons in the near future. If you’re interested in lessons please email ukeschooluk@gmail, stating which days and times you are available.
