Let’s face it Menopause sucks. It’s an extreme challenge.

Throwing up a mixed bag of experiences because of hormonal and psycho-spiritual changes that play havoc with our wellbeing and emotions.

Symptoms can depend on your own body, but common experiences are hot flushes, mood swings, night sweats and brain fog.

Here’s some common ground that many women face and the essences that can help hold you through.

🌸 Coming to terms with change:

Walnut- helps you people adapt to change and is particularly useful during big life events like meno. It protects the mind.

Honeysuckle: For feelings of getting older and things we may have let go of during our youth. We can start dwelling on past memories, regret missed opportunities or rose tinted glasses for good ole’ days. This will bring you into the present and enjoy what you have now.

Wild Oat: Meno can bring the yearning for a new direction in life and purpose. Wild Oat helps navigate this and brings things into alignment for the new.

Star of Bethlehem: For some, menopause can trigger a sense of loss - for childbearing, ending a life chapter, empty nest syndrome. Star of Bethlehem can help to process and overcome these feelings.

🌸 Menopause mood swings:

Scleranthus: This flower is for indecisiveness, restlessness and can't order your thoughts. It helps balance mood and thoughts.

Impatiens: Impatiens remedy is for if you're feeling impatient or irritable.

Beech: Beech is for intolerance. Feeling overly critical or judgemental and not able to see peoples point of view. Beech will help you have tolerance and compassion.

Holly: For the angry, maybe jealousy, resentment or even hate feelings that can bring a temper on. There’s many flavours to this one.

🌸 Brain Fog:

Clematis: Feeling like your head’s in the clouds?
Clematis is great for grounding and anchoring. This will help bring you back into focus when you're feeling all over the place, sometimes escaping by daydreaming the time away.

🌸 Anxiety:

Mimulus: This is the remedy for a fear of known things, in menopause it may be the fear of change.

Aspen: Are you experiencing a general sense of uneasiness, foreboding, apprehension or feeling an impending danger with no reason? Aspen dissolves these heavy feelings.

🌸 Insomnia & sleep:

White Chestnut: Whirling thoughts take flight at bedtime, struggles to switch off and have repetitive thoughts running at full pelt? These keep you awake at night or during the early hours of the morning. White Chestnut essence helps calm your inner voice.

Mimulus: Again, if insomnia is through worry and anxiety this is a good one.

🌸Loss of confidence:

Larch: We can lose our identities and lack confidence during meno. Larch helps regain our strength and vision of who we are.

🌸 Low mood/depression:

Mustard: This is for a deep gloom and dark clouds that seem to come and go for no apparent reason. Mustard essences helps ease if you feel like being in a slump and can’t to shake it off then it vanishes as fast as it came, but will be back.

Wild Rose: For lack of motivation and feel stuck in a rut. You're not feeling depressed but lack interest in the world around you and have lost any motivation to try change your life for the better. This essence will help you find a new interest in life and step forward with enthusiasm.

Willow: We all can feel self-pity or resentful of things and life is unfair. Willow essence helps bring optimism and guide you to take responsibility for your life.

🌸 Fatigue & exhaustion:

Olive - For feeling physically exhausted and drained of all energy. It happens when you’ve given too much of yourself or meno is taking its toll. Also good if you’ve been on the go for long periods that’s left you feeling spread thin and sucked your energy. This can help put the bounce back in your step if you feel completely wrung out and have no energy left.

Hornbeam: For mental tiredness and feeling very weary, emotionally just wanting to stay curled up in bed emotionally. Acutely feeling life’s burdens and very fatigued from it all. This flower essence gives renewed enthusiasm.

Personally, flower essences got me through the whole 8 years of this midlife transition.

I still shudder to think I what kind of mess I’d be in if it hadn’t been for the essences helping to alleviate the emotional stressors.

If any of these ring true to what you’re going through. Flower essences are on hand. I can mix you a personal bottle of up to 7 flowers. 🌺

A 100% natural, complimentary, therapeutic approach to alleviating symptoms.

Empaths and highly sensitive people often go into hermit mode because of emotional and energy overload, picked up and absorb from people, places and situations.

If pic below mirrors a cycle you often go through, you’re probably an empath or Highly Sensitive Person (HSP).

We deeply feel, absorb the emotions around us or get very easily overwhelmed by noise, crowds, bright lights, general over stimulation where others don’t.

Sensitivity is a gift, but It’s no fun and can be debilitating.

Without the right emotional support, it can sometimes feel exhausting, but help can be found with Bach Flowers - they’re saviours.

Flowers essences are always ready to support, giving freedom from these states that aren’t usually yours.

The best ones are:

🌸 Agrimony – helps released stifled emotions often hidden behind a mask of cheerfulness. This remedy helps process deep emotions rather than bottling them up and being honest with yourself and others about how you feel.

🌸 Aspen - empaths are highly intuitive, which can sometimes lead to feelings of unease or unexplained fears for no reason. Aspen is the remedy is for anxiety you can’t put your finger on, helping to bring a sense of inner security and calm.

🌸 Centaury - the boundary setter and helps you say no. Very helpful for avoiding compassion fatigue. This is hard when you’re naturally a helper, often putting others' needs before your own. Centaury supports the ability to say no without guilt, strengthening assertiveness and self-worth.

🌸 Chicory – letting go of being overly attached. Deep empathy brings the risk of over-caring, being overly sensitive to criticism or becoming too emotionally entangled in people’s problems. Chicory helps balance emotional attachment, allowing an empathetically sensitive to offer love and support without becoming too embroiled.

🌸 Crab Apple - this is for emotionally cleansing. It helps wash away the build up of emotions we pick up, store and carry with us from others.

🌸 Elm – for overwhelm and feeling responsibility for others. Life’s demands can become too much. Elm gives relief from feeling these feelings pressures and restores confidence in our ability to cope.

🌸 Mimulus – reduces fear of thing you know.
Different from Aspen, which deals with vague fears, Mimulus is for known fears—such as fear of crowded places. It’s invaluable for empaths who experience anxiety in specific social or sensory-overloading situations.

🌸 Pine – lets go of guilt and self blame.
Highly sensitives can be overly self-critical and taking on guilt even when they’ve done nothing wrong. Pine helps nurtures self-compassion and acceptance.

🌸 Walnut - acts as a mind protector, maintain your emotional boundaries and stay grounded in your own feelings and not be influenced by others. It’s a balancing remedy, especially during times of change or transition.

🌸 Water Violet – helps find balance when an empath is in solitary mode. Being a hermit is an empath’s grace. Craving alone time to recharge, but this can sometimes lead to isolation or feeling misunderstood. Water Violet helps set healthy independence while allowing for deeper connections.

For Empaths and sensitives , Bach Flowers help:

💖 Help create emotional boundaries to prevent absorbing others’ energy.
💖 Reduce feelings of overwhelm in social or sensory-heavy situations.
💖 Support self-care and resilience, allowing HSPs to embrace their sensitivity as a strength.

You can buy the remedies individually which cost about £10 a bottle or for £25, as a registered Bach Centre UK practitioner, I can mix up to 7 flowers for your own personal dosage bottle.
