Audiobook Narration UK

Excited to share an AMAZE! guest coach, Ray Porter, who will be working with us in October, on day 2, our directed reads day

Ray Porter grew up in Indiana and studied at the California Institute of the Arts. Shortly after college, he auditioned for the Oregon Shakespeare Festival and stayed with them for 18 years. Outside of OSF, he has appeared at ACT in San Francisco, the Mark Taper Forum, and Berkeley Rep. Ray has more than 40 film and TV credits including roles in Modern Family, Shameless, Sons of Anarchy, Monk, Justified Argo, and Almost Famous. DC Comics fans will know him best as Darkseid in Zack Snyder’s Justice League.
Ray has starred in The Goat Doctor written by Graeme Garden for the BBC, and has narrated numerous audiobooks across all genres including the Joe Ledger Series by Jonathan Maberry, The Bobiverse Series by Dennis E. Taylor, all of Jack Carr’s books (so far), The Silver Linings Playbook, and multiple non-fiction titles – and many of his titles feature at the top of the New York Times audiobook bestsellers list. Ray has multiple Earphones and Audie awards, and his narration of Project Hail Mary was awarded the 2022 Audiobook of the year as well as winning Audie for the best Science Fiction Audiobook in the same year. He was inducted into the Audible Hall of Fame in 2026.

Ray is renowned for having a wicked sense of humour, a commanding voice of impressive range, bringing deep characterisation to every performance. He currently resides in Los Angeles but as a confirmed anglophile, is regularly discovered near a pint in small pubs around the UK.

We are incredibly excited to welcome the Casting team from W F Howes: Georgia Rytina, Raisa Patel, and Ciara Farrell

Georgia is a Senior Casting Coordinator at audiobook publisher W.F. Howes. She has worked on over 650 titles since joining in 2023, including a British Book Award nominee, a British Audio Award winner, and several True Crime Award winners. An avid reader with a background in radio, she loves playing matchmaker between book and narrator. Outside of work, Georgia can be found knitting, exploring outside, watching TV quizzes, or (of course) with her head in a book.

Raisa Patel has been a Casting Coordinator at W.F. Howes for the past two years. Since October last year, she has been working on the Quest imprint, collaborating with self-published authors across a wide range of genres, from true crime and thrillers to romance. With a soft spot for romance novels, Raisa especially enjoys casting romance titles, but she enjoys reading scripts of every genre and working with authors to help bring their stories to life through audio.

Ciara Farrell has worked in the publishing industry for the past five years. With a BA in English & History and an MA in Publishing, she combines a love of storytelling with hands-on industry experience. As a Casting Coordinator at W.F. Howes she works on the casting process for audiobooks, helping to bring stories to life across a wide range of genres. While she enjoys working on all types of projects, she has a particular soft spot for romance, non-fiction and horror titles.

W. F. Howes Ltd is the U.K.’s leading audiobook publisher, distributing its content through all leading consumer and library vendors. The W. F. Howes audio brand has a proven record of success being home to some of the world’s leading authors, such as Diana Gabaldon, Val McDermid, Dan Jones, and V. E. Schwab.
