When they search for bugs, berries, collect leaves and explore the world around them, they’re learning to question, investigate and understand nature.

When they play alongside their friends, they’re learning kindness, respect, empathy and how to work together.

Every moment of play supports children’s learning and development, helping them grow into confident, curious and capable learners.

What may look like simple play today is quietly laying the foundations for tomorrow.

Because one day, the muddy shoes will be outgrown, the paintings will fade and the tiny treasures tucked into pockets will be distant memories.

🌿🍃 Nature Day 🍃🌿

Today we have been exploring and learning all about nature! The children enjoyed identifying bugs and birds, taking part in different nature activities, watering the plants in the allotment, and reading books all about the outdoors. 🐞🦋📚

We have also been teaching the children about the importance of nature and caring for the world around us. It has been a lovely day full of learning, curiosity, and outdoor fun. ☀️🌱

🌟 Promoting Independence Across Our Nursery 🌟

From our babies right through to preschool, we support and encourage every child to become confident, capable and independent in their own unique way as we help prepare them for school. 💚

Throughout the day, children are given opportunities to build important life skills through everyday routines, child-led play and meaningful experiences. Some of the ways we promote independence include:

✨ Freely exploring their environment
✨ Choosing their own breakfast, books, toys and activities
✨ Feeding themselves and pouring their own drinks
✨ Washing their hands independently
✨ Putting on and hanging up their coats
✨ Developing problem solving skills
✨ Practising early writing and learning to write their own names

These are just some of the many ways we encourage independence across our nursery every single day. 🌱

By giving children opportunities to try, explore, make choices and do things for themselves, we help build confidence, resilience and the skills they need to become happy, school-ready learners. 🎒✨
