In Dakota park today chatting to parents. Lots of children on balance bikes not sure of the next steps to getting pedalling. Great to see so many children on bikes though. 🦊

So far this week I have been asked the following:

We have bought our 5 year old a pedal bike but he just can’t do it. What can we do?

Our daughter loves her stabilisers but we don’t know how to help her if we take them off?

Our son has balance issues should we get him a balance bike or a pedal bike?

All of these are valid questions. The answer is simple. Book them in for a 30 minute pedal ready assessment. There we look at cognitive and physical readiness for pedals. If they need more practice we would give them more time on a balance bike learning some new skills and practising them. If they can move onto pedals we get them cycling in a Cycle Kids session in just one hour.
