So I have posted a small portion of this on my other platforms with music but decided to pop this on this page with it’s original audio. This is my mare who gets incredibly excited when it come to jumping. When she stops the first time that was completely on me as I asked her to woah as she was not concentrating on where she was going and I was worried she was not going to see the jump and hurt herself you can see that she was not trying to threaten me and once she had got that particular bit out the way she went straight back onto the circle to jump. It is so easy to jump to conclusions and i do have times when i am lunging her normally where she doesn’t want to do it because she finds it boring and its completely different. I know a lot of people will say I shouldn’t have let her do it but i am of the opinion that if any animals enjoys somethings and wants to express themselves (as long as it is not going to harm you or themselves) they should be allowed to do it as You will see at the end when she does the last rear and she gets herself caught with the lunge line I then increased the height of the jump so she had to actually concentrate and she stopped playing around and jumped beautifully. You can see that I use my voice but in no way force her to go over anything.

This duo have come on leaps and bounds. They have gone from not wanting to do any trotting and tensing up in a forward walk to staying calm when the pony goes into canter without her wanting her to and bringing her back to trot again and carrying on. She is a lovely example of how you can progress when you are not necessarily as confident as you want. This pony is not the easiest to ride and regularly wants to bomb off and dosent find it easy to relax but with the work this young lady is doing she is slowly getting calmer and more confident at relaxing with her as well. Please remember it is not necessarily just the rider that might have confidence issues but also the horse. While it may look like it is a hyper forward going horse it could also just as likely be their way of showing that they are unsure and unbalanced. Go at your pace if it takes longer than other then that is fine this is your journey not theirs!! Get to know your horse and yourself together as a team and watch your partnership blossom.

So in an effort to expand my client base a little quicker I am going to offer 1/2 price lesson for every referral that has their first lesson which is also nearly half price being £15 instead of the normal £25 (this is within a 10 mile radius) I am very happy to travel further as well. So all you need to do is share as much as possible and get the person to tell me who it was that referred them. This is only valid for people who have had their first full price lesson. I also have plans for more discounts and FREE lessons once I have a wider client base ☺️.

So first post on my page so thought I would say a little bit about myself

I have ridden since I was 2 and I am 31 in March I mostly competed in showjumping.
I have worked on a variety of yards including international showjumping yard and international dressage yard. Most recently worked on a race yard.
I have been teaching for nearly 5 years mostly young children and some who are on the spectrum. I teach in a way that hopefully means that students can then assess themselves when on their own so they can correct themselves instead of always needing to be told what to do. I never teach my students the same way as they all need to be taught different (some may be taught the same way) in a way that works for them.

I am available for teaching adults and children of all abilities (must have or have access to own pony/horse)

I am also available to school/lunge/longline etc
Horses should they require it.
