When you’re stocking up on treats this Halloween please remember that some sweets can be dangerous for little ones.

Lollipops, hard sweets and mini eggs in particular can pose a serious choking risk. They’re the perfect size to completely block a child’s airway. So please pick another treat.

📣 Support for families with school-age children in Dorset 💙
There’s support available for families to help with the cost of living and make sure children can access nutritious meals and fun activities.
🍽️ Free School Meals
From September, eligibility has expanded so that children in families receiving Universal Credit can now qualify for free school meals.

🎉 School’s Out! Activity Programme
The School’s Out! programme now runs during half-term breaks as well as the main school holidays!
Activities are free for children eligible for Targeted Free School Meals, giving them the chance to enjoy fun activities and experiences during the holidays.

Did you know a bright coat could make a difference to your child’s safety?

Before we know it the clocks will change and our children will be heading to and from school in the dark. Wearing a brighter coloured coat can help them be seen more easily by drivers as the nights draw in.

If your child or their school insists on a darker colour you can add reflective strips to increase visibility.

🍂🍁 Our Autumn Floorbook! 🍁🍂
Last week, we introduced our new Talking and Thinking Floorbook topic all about autumn! 🍂 Using our Talking Tub and creating 3D mind maps, the children shared their ideas, interests and what they already know about this season.
We’ll use their thoughts and ideas to help shape our future planning and create meaningful learning experiences based on their interests. 💛🌿

One of last week’s outdoor enhancements was water play with pipes! The children loved connecting the pipes and exploring how the water flowed through them, developing their problem-solving skills, curiosity and creativity through hands-on play. 💧💛

We know that many of our little ones are currently on their toilet-training journey, so we wanted to share a helpful resource with our families.
