Lots of work going on during the holidays including new loos for Year 5/6, and a new storage container to create some extra space for us. Amazing work from Dan Pullen Haulage who craned the container perfectly into its place.

Today we had an athlete for Sports for Champions come in. Caitlin Witham is a hockey player on the GB Elite Development Squad. She talked to the school about how she got into hockey, her committment, how to stay fuelled and how to have a healthy and balanced life.
The children took part in a sponsored circuit led by Caitlin. Money raised for this goes towards buying new Sport equpiment for our school and funds GB athletes training and travel.
Children had the opportunity to raise money and earn rewards. These will be given out in September. (Awaiting delivery).

We would like to say a massive thank you to Time2bounce and the friends of Wantage CE Primary.
Today our young carers and SEN children got celebrated by having a special soft play day. I can confirm that every single child had the ‘best school day ever’ 😁

Phase one of moving classrooms completed today! Huge thanks to Barnes Removals who did a fantastic job and to our teachers and TAs who boxed everything up ready to go. We’re looking forward to Monday in our relocated rooms 😊

Be Cool (in more ways than one) this weekend!

Spend a few delightful hours in the shady refuge of Wantage Parish Church on Saturday 27th June, learning the art of ceramic painting under the expert creative guidance of professional artist Bahar Murphy.

Through simple ceramic decoration, participants will be encouraged to express themes of peace, hope, nature and human creativity.

Children may enjoy decorating their tiles with: angels, rainbows, Noah’s ark animals, fish symbols, flowers and hearts, birds and trees, handprints, or the sun and stars.

Adults might choose to explore reflective and symbolic themes such as: personal journeys, healing and peace, nature and spirituality, olive branches and doves, the Tree of Life, seeds of hope, abstract earth patterns, light, water, and growth, symbols of faith and humanity.

At the end of the workshop, you will have the option of temporarily leaving your tile to form part of a collective community artwork that will be on show through the coming week, to celebrate our connection this weekend. Tiles left in this way can be picked up next Friday or Saturday mornings.
