Every chapter of our story changes us…
One wig. Four worlds.

🌸 Growth
✨ Magic
❤️ Love
🇬🇧 Home

What began as an idea slowly became something far more sacred to me.
A reflection of my inner world, my becoming, my painful journey back home to myself.

Each interchangeable topper represents a different chapter of my life.

The experiences that shaped me.
The magic that found me.
The people I have loved, and the love that has carried me through my darkest seasons.
The slow, tender journey of learning to love myself wholeheartedly.
And finally… the feeling of returning to my own soul after years of searching for home in other people, places, and versions of myself.

Each piece transforms the same handcrafted wig into an entirely different emotion, energy, and story.
Much like life transforms us through every experience we survive, every person we meet, and every heartbreak we carry.

This collection is my love letter to British pantomime artistry, to storytelling, to the beautiful souls I’ve met along the way, to transformation,
and to the dying craft of hard cap wig making that was so lovingly placed into my hands.

Over the next few weeks, I will be journeying through each world sharing the symbolism, memories, heartbreak, healing, magic, and meaning woven into every piece.

For the first time in my life,
I feel as though I am truly finding my artistic voice through my beloved medium of sculpted hard cap wigs.

Created with immense love, tenderness, spirit, and soul at Studio Loz.

I invite you to follow along on Instagram: .co.uk as I introduce myself as the artist I was always supposed to be.

Where British Pantomime Meets Japanese Tradition ❤️

My journey is shaped by a deep and ongoing admiration for Japan—its culture, its history, and especially its legacy of wig making. There is something endlessly inspiring about a craft that has been preserved with such care, passed through generations, and still holds relevance in modern performance.

As I continue to develop my practice and refine my approach to this craft, I’m constantly reminded of just how precious this skill is—something held not just in my hands, but carried through time. It feels important, even necessary, to share it. To pass it on. Because hard cap wig making is a hidden art—one that deserves to be rooted in the same level of care, respect, and devotion so deeply embedded within Japanese craftsmanship.

There’s something quietly powerful about a wig. It holds history, identity, transformation—and for those of us who make them, a kind of devotion that borders on obsession. I’m Loz, founder of Studio Loz, a hard cap wig maker rooted in the vibrant, exaggerated world of British pantomime. But my...

The original Mama G 🥰 Mama G

The classic Tracy Turnblad-inspired bouffant — a true staple look. The original version of this wig was created in a soft fibre chestnut blend, but a few years later I revisited the design and transitioned it into hard fibre.

I sat with this hard fibre commission for a long time because I wanted to get it exactly right. Sometimes you just have to stare at a wig for a few months until it finally tells you what it wants to be 🤣

This is one of my favourite silhouettes to build, so it feels only right that I’ll be reworking it into bold new colours, and some cute added extras.
Can’t wait to show you this one.

Wig Design by me: .co.uk

If you asked me to close my eyes and visualise a wig before making it, I wouldn’t be able to. My process is completely hands-on and instinctive. I design as I go rather than beginning with a finished image in my head.

I need to physically work with the shape, texture and colour in front of me before I can understand what the final piece will become. I start by creating the structure and shaping first, then I lay the coloured hair out in front of me and respond to it in the moment. As I handle the materials, ideas begin to form naturally and the wig develops on the stand.

For this design, I already knew I wanted a soft, rounded and exaggerated silhouette, inspired by a spoof of Katy Perry coming out of space, with references to Firework. The black represented the galaxy, while the fire-blend tones of orange, red and yellow echoed the trail of a rocket and tied in with the fiery sleeves of the costume.

The finished look wasn’t something I planned in detail beforehand — it appeared as I made it. By responding to the shape and the colours in front of me, the wig evolved into a fun, soft and over-exaggerated dame-style look.
