Glenthorne Community Primary School is a one form entry primary school with our 'Roots & Shoots' Nursery that predominately serves Cheslyn Hay and surrounding areas. We are located on a large site that includes a before and after school club. We have a strong community ethos, whilst recognising that every child is unique, and has talents. We are here to develop those talents; through the right support, encouragement and inspirational teaching and learning.

A number of our pupils have been taking part in the award-winning Fishing for Families project in Staffordshire in partnership with the Canal & River Trust. The multi-session initiative—which recently won the national Young Person Impact Award—operates across Staffordshire to get both adults and children hooked on angling and boost children's mental health and wellbeing. The pupils entered their first competition yesterday and did amazing. In the individual event, Toby took 6th place, with our other pupils all finishing well. Tommy also received a special award for demonstrating resilience and perseverance. In the Team event Glenthorne Team 2 even scoped first prize 🏆Well done to all involved, hopefully, we can get more families involved next year 🎣

We are very proud to have achieved our Quality Mark for PE, Sport and Physical Activity with a DISTINCTION! Mrs Dudley has worked hard pulling all the evidence together and working alongside Mr Thompson, as well as all of our other teachers, who all go above and beyond with ensuring that we have a fantastic offer for our children. Our feedback stated:
*Exceptionally well balanced curriculum which meets the needs of all pupils, particularly SEND pupils
*Outstanding extra curricular, competition and community links provision for such a small school
*The collaborative approach of many staff to support the delivery and development of PESSPA.
