Growing up in an underprivileged family in a remote village, I faced numerous challenges, including financial constraints that hindered my education. Access to basic necessities such as shoes was a privilege, and I often relied on leftovers for meals. Being expelled from school due to inability to pay highlighted the lack of opportunities.
Upon moving to the UK in the early 2000s, I enlisted in the army despite lacking formal education. Acceptance was granted after passing English and Maths tests, which required a second attempt. After five years of service, transitioning proved difficult until seeking assistance from the Royal British Legion. With their support, I obtained HGV Class 2 and PCV licenses for bus driving.
Inspired by this journey, the idea of Bounce Back Skills emerged alongside my recruitment agency The Ocean HealthCare Solutions Ltd. Recognizing the potential for others facing similar challenges, I aim to give back to the community by offering skills development. This initiative, driven by a passion to reduce poverty and exclusion, operates on a not-for-profit basis.
Bounce Back Skills envisions collaboration with local businesses, government entities, and the UK government to achieve its goal. Donations and contributions received will be reinvested into the program, with the ultimate objective of combating poverty, fostering inclusion, and lowering unemployment rates in society.
Your support in this endeavor is greatly appreciated.
