Curious minds learn best ✨

Every question, every investigation, and every ‘I wonder…’ is an opportunity for children to discover something new and grow into confident, curious little learners. ✨

Our Day Nursery’s first Sports Day 🤍🏅

We ended the week with a really wholesome event with all our amazing families, as Coach Liam hosted Our Day Nursery’s very first Sports Day.

Having all of our Toddler and Preschool families spend the morning and afternoon together in the park on a beautiful sunny day, alongside our children’s favourite sports coach, was really special.

We were so proud of all our children for taking part, and having lots of fun. Thank you to everyone who joined us and made our very first Sports Day such a memorable day. 🏅🤍

Teachable moments 🌸

Some of the best learning isn’t planned - it happens in the moment. We follows children’s interests and embrace those spontaneous opportunities to learn. Sometimes the most meaningful learning happens when we simply follow a child’s curiosity 🌼

Our Preschool Art Exhibition 🎨🌸

We were so excited to welcome our families into nursery for a very special art exhibition, where our preschool children proudly shared their creativity with their mummies and daddies before heading into our very own outdoor art studio to view their collaborative artwork

This event was inspired by Steph, co-founder of the Curiosity Approach, who recently worked with us to help transform our beautiful outdoor art space. Her vision really encouraged us to think differently about how children experience creativity, space and expression.

The children (with their parents) were invited to create a large scale collaborative artwork by covering a white tent and objects with colourful stickers—exploring pattern, repetition and design, inspired by Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama 🌸

Big ideas from little hands ✨ 🖼️

In our curiosity approach nursery, the children explored mark making on a huge blank canvas using tempera sticks. Working side by side, they transformed an empty space into a collaborative artwork full of movement, colour, and expression.

There was no ‘right’ outcome—just exploration and creativity as they built the piece together at their own pace.

This collaborative piece of work was beautiful as it was accessible for all children, no matter their mark making ability, allowing every child to contribute in a way that was meaningful to them.

Their art work is now proudly displayed in their room ✨

Mixing coloured water, scooping mud, pouring through funnels, and experimenting with pots and pans. These open ended resources encourage children to investigate, problem solve, be creative, and use lots of imagination

Jack also created a funnel fountain for the children, which they have loved! The children discovered that when a larger volume of water is poured through the funnels, it causes the water to spurt out of the holes with greater velocity ✨

We are thrilled to share that the team at Our Day Nursery has been recognised as a Prem Aware setting by The Smallest Things charity.

Through training provided by PRISM, our team have developed their knowledge and understanding of babies born preterm.

This training encouraged us to reflect on our practice and enhance our induction process, ensuring that families of preterm babies feel understood, and reassured that their child will receive the very best start to their learning journey.

We are proud to display The Smallest Things logo and our official certificate, awarded by Tania, parent and London Region Ambassador for the charity 💜

A very exciting delivery at nursery the week 🥚 ✨

Caroline arrived with our Quail, Duck and Chicken eggs ready for hatching. Over the next few weeks, the children will have the opportunity to observe the eggs closely, learn about the life cycle process, and watch new life begin

Providing real, hands on learning experiences like this helps spark curiosity, encourage questioning, and create meaningful learning opportunities for our children 🤍

✨ Top 20 Day Nurseries Award 2026 ✨

We are delighted to share that daynurseries.co.uk has recognised us as one of the Top 20 Day Nurseries in London for 2026 🏆

This is our third consecutive year receiving this award, and we couldn’t be prouder.
From what began as a vision in 2018 to the beautiful community we have today, this journey fills us with so much pride and gratitude. 💛

This achievement is a reflection of our incredible team, who create thoughtful environments and meaningful invitations to play every single day, always following the children’s interests and allowing curiosity to lead the way.

Inspired by the The Curiosity Approach, we believe in slowing childhood down, embracing awe and wonder, and giving children the time, freedom, and space to explore, question, discover, and simply be children.

Most importantly, thank you to our amazing families for your continued support and trust. From embracing our curriculum to contributing loose parts and resources, you help us create the rich and inspiring experiences we provide for the children every day.

Children are at the heart of our curriculum, and this shared vision between our team, families, and children is what makes our nursery such a special place to learn, grow, and thrive. ✨

Thank you for being part of our journey 💚

Today’s invitation to create was all about process, possibility and curiosity ✨

Using large scale cardboard sheets as their canvas, the children explored painting on a bigger scale with brooms, brushes and sweeping movements. They then experimented with rolling paint cover tyres down guttering balanced on cable reels, watching the different patterns, tracks and marks appear

This type of open ended exploration is at the heart of - giving children the freedom to think, test ideas, problem solve and lead their own learning and through awe and wonder 💚
