Wow, you'ra so taanted! What can I say, I'm...

Good luck to the last of my lovely pupils taking their piano exam this morning - one hard working young lady tackling Grade 2 in Harrogate, good luck xx

The exam results are in - super quick this time! All three proved hard work pays off and passed with flying colours! Proud doesn’t come close xx

Three hardworking young people are taking their piano exams today, I’m hoping they relax and enjoy it as they’ve definitely put the work in xx

Whoop whoop! I’ve woken up to amazing news today - a hard working young lady as smashed her Grade 5 Theory exam! It is a tough exam not least because of the technical issues involved in it being online but does give her the gateway to the higher level ABRSM exams, well done xx

Huge well done to a hard working young man who spent his summer preparing for the all important ABRSM Grade 5 theory exam. This qualification is needed to progress beyond Grade 5 practical and certainly wasn’t without challenges with the new digital format but…….he smashed it with a fantastic Distinction, so proud and thoroughly deserved xx

Wahoo!!!! All three pupils smashed their exams with fantastic results - hard work pays off x

Three very hard working pianists are taking their next grades today - have fun, show them what you’re made of and most importantly enjoy your performance xx

It’s a new syllabus kind of day - excited! Xx

Well this wasn’t what I was expecting - let’s hope the queue isn’t ‘more than hour’ and I can book the all important exams before work!

One week until lessons resume - how is the music theory going? This may help 😂🎶🎵

The best news - a distinction for Grade 8 Musical Theatre exam, well done Jamie, very proud of you 😊xx

Please remember, lessons are following Wakefield term time so won’t finish until Saturday 9th April x

It’s another exam day, just the one doing grade 8 musical theatre - smash it! Xx

And the results are in - five super happy pianists who have shown hard work really does pay off! Super proud teacher xx

I’m always asked how long or how much practice should be done - I remember learning my instruments and the week between lessons disappeared before i knew it but then i realised, even a little bit of work between lessons just means better progress thus less boredom going over the same areas. Always quality vs quantity that’s for sure!

A piano, made out of chocolate! Who knew? what an amazing gift, thank you xx

Still love this - pride of place on my piano for the endless argument of what came first, the sharp or the hash tag! 🤦🏻‍♀️😂🎵

Merry Christmas you lovely lot - see you in 2022 xx

First day of results in and she did it! That’s two exams under her belt in six months, super proud teacher xx

It’s exam week for some of my lovely pianists - they’ve put in the hard work so now it’s time to shine, good luck xx

Without music and singing my life would be very different and probably a lot less interesting! There is a song for every mood, what song would you pick on world kindness day?

Knew there was a reason I loved my job - singing all day everyday certainly makes me happy xx

Lessons are starting back on Monday 6th September - see you all soon hopefully for a less disruptive year! Xx

The Musical Theatre exam results are in and I’m super proud! Three pupils taking Grade 8 and one Grade 7 all receiving fantastic distinctions- so well deserved especially after such a long stint having lessons via zoom!

Exciting week for some of my lovely pupils finally finding out how they’ve done in their A-levels and GCSE’s - lots of exciting future plans on the cards that’s for sure xx

Love this - need to share for sure! Xx

Love receiving videos of little practice sessions - this little lady has been learning on and off since September (lockdowns permitting) and is doing amazing but it’s very important to keep her interest and motivation playing songs she knows so here is my favourite Baby Shark - well done xx

And the final two piano exams - a very well earned Merit and Distinction, what these pupils have achieved with all these lockdowns is amazing, well done all! Now on to the singing exams 😂

Wow. The results from Wednesdays exams are in already and they are amazing, so very proud of all of them especially as the majority of the preparation and lessons was done over zoom - Merits and Distinctions all round, huge congratulations to everyone xx

Today the first lot of hard working students take their first in person exams - they’ve all worked so hard, Good luck you amazing lot, you’ve got this! Xx

As we approach exam time everyone should remember this - you are all fabulous!

I might try using this one on my pupils - not sure how it will go down 🎶🎵😂!

Tuesday was a busy day finally doing exam entries! So many have worked super hard during lockdown so it’s going to be a busy summer finessing their programmes - I know my lovely students love the “picky stage” of prep 😂xx

This is very apt after my last post - the beauty of teaching one on one means each lesson can be tailored to the individual student, everyone develops at a different pace so one method won’t fit all, I take time to get to know each new pupil and teach accordingly

I’m loving how accessible learning piano is for all ages and abilities. Teaching with animals is a big hit with the little people but now I’m also converting music recognition into colours (thanks to a very useful tip). The colour card will match with a specific note on the piano that will be reflected with matching stickers on the keys and notation on the manuscript - music should be available for absolutely everyone that’s for sure xx

It’s looking like face to face exams are running in the summer session - ABRSM are running mid June to mid July and LCM Wakefield date is 16th August. It would be good to have lots of you enter as you’ve worked so hard this year especially over zoom so I’ll be in touch soon to plan entries

The college/uni audition period for performing arts students has been so tough this year with it being virtual and for some it’s still going on - all my students have worked very hard but to receive this gift and cards from two very happy young ladies was lovely - good luck girls and keep up the hard work xx

One lesson space free for the summer term - Tuesday 5.30pm, I think I’ve contacted everyone on my waiting list but apologies if I’ve missed you, message now for details xx

Not sure this would be a good teaching aid but still funny xx
