At this time of year, everything can feel a little intense for students preparing for GCSEs.
But learning doesn't happen all at once.
Like planting a see, it takes time, the right conditions and steady care.
Small steps, taken consistently, build confidence and understanding.

"Somewhere, something incredible is waiting to be known." Cosmos, Carl Sagan.
As we head closer to GCSEs, it is not about doing everything, it is about small steps, taken consistently.
Like space exploration, English about discovering what you can do, one step at a time.

"Don't know what to write? "
How many times as a parent and tutor have I heard those lines?
After Easter, many children return to school full of experiences and chocolate...
and yet when faced with the blank page they freeze: they can jump off a wall, climb the highest hill, swing on a rope swing - but the blank page will stop them in their tracks.
They do not lack ideas.
They feel the pressure to get it right.
To write the perfect sentence.
To choose the perfect words.
They stop before they start.

Does your child say, "I don't know what to write?"
I hear this all the time in my lessons.
It is not because they cannot do English - it's because they fell overwhelmed before they even start.
The pressure to get ti 'right' stops them from writing anything at all.
I've put together a short FREE English guide to help with this - simple, practical and easy to use at home.
Download it here:

Putting pen to paper. Lots of children tell me they 'don't know what to write' - but it is rarely about ability.
It is usually overwhelm.
If your child is struggling to get started I have written a simple blog here:

I have been working with a lot of KS3 students recently who feel stuck with writing, not because they cannot do it, but because they don't know where to start.
So I have put together a free guide for parents and students to help build confidence in English.
You can download it here:

Hope it helps

π Coming Soonβ¦
Iβve been working on a new GCSE English Macbeth workbook designed to help students actually understand how to improve their answers β not just memorise quotes.
β Model answers from Grade 4 β Grade 9
β Clear, step-by-step guidance
β Space to practise and build confidence
Iβll be trialling this with my students this week π
If you have a child studying Macbeth and would like early access, feel free to message me.
