The Lego Mindstorm programming workshop was challenging for the kids but good fun. They had to be precise about programming the robots around the maze and try to use the sensor to detect the cone at the end.

Our dome is very advanced technology and always a hit. The kids got to go in the dome every day of last week in the summer school putting it to good use.

In our Microbit programming workshop in the first week of summer school, the kids could practise different aspects of coding; implementing loops and functions. Alongside programming physical buttons, LED screens and motors on the McQueen attachment. We were very impressed with the kids' skills.

At the start of the summer school last week the kids got to analyse their own DNA which they really enjoyed, especially working in the labs and wearing lab coats.

Our Dome has just been given a shiny new update. It's an amazing piece of technology that we are lucky to have as a university. We are the only university within London with a dome and one of a handful in the UK. It makes us unique and stand out as a university. The number of children and adults combined that we have impacted using our dome is in the thousands. Our passion for STEM shows.

The Sphero robots went down well with the children. They got to learn how to code them around shapes and some groups who completed lots of shapes won prizes. A group completed 6 shapes this week, some serious skills.
