For anyone with kids interested in astronomy we thought you may be interested in hearing that Havering Astronomical Society group are launching a new Young Astronomers section. Initially with free online meetings, they will move to in person sessions (small fee) in the Upminster area as well when it is safe. They will be held regularly on the 4th Thursday of each month, with the first one on Thursday 28th January 2021at 7pm. Ages 8-16 are welcome to join. If your children have an interest in astronomy and space this is the place to find answers and spark their curiosity. Meetings will be fun and inclusive with the opportunity to carry out observing with telescopes in the future. Following the amazing success in previous years, we have decided to hold a “Christmas Secret Shopper” event.

For just £5 (per gift), children can choose from a selection of lovely Christmassy gifts for the very special people in their lives. This opportunity will mean so much to the children, especially with shopping being so difficult at the moment.

The secret shopper event will be held on Wednesday 16th and Thursday 17th December for both Infant and Junior children, and each class bubble will in turn go to the Junior library and select their gifts. Each gift will be put into a gift bag so that the present remains a secret! Presents will be sent home with the children.
