Pictured are just some of the amazing team bringing assemblies to years 7-9 and a showcase of black excellence to years 10-13 in just two weeks’ time!

Here they are, your 2025/26 Diversity Captains: Peace, Daniel and Moon!

They are already busy beginning to plan this year’s School Diversity Week Assembly coming to you later this month…

This year, we had brilliant applications for the role of Diversity Captains and we are sure that the sixth form team are all behind this brilliant trio in leading our school to celebrate all of the communities that make CCCS the special place that it is.

There’s still a way to go to win over all hearts and minds but working together, listening to each other and showing LASB will help us on that journey.

We also thank our Diversity captains for delivering a brilliant assembly to years 7-9 this week too. They helped educate us and helped to celebrate our changemakers - this year’s theme for Black History Month.

We’ll be delivering assemblies to years 7-9 and a full showcase of black excellence to years 10-13 on Friday 18th October. We can’t wait for you to see what we’ve been working on and join in with the celebrations, learning and sharing together.

A brilliant show of allyship from Year 12 students wearing their rainbow laces - in some very creative ways! - reminding all people in the LBGTQ+ community that sport is a place for everyone.

So many sixth form students have been working so hard on a brilliant showcase ready to perform to Years 10-13 tomorrow.
🥳🥳
Period 2 = Year 10; Period 3 = Year 11; Period 4 = Year 12; Period 5 = Year 13. Please go to your usual classroom to register and leave your bags. Your teacher will bring you to the theatre so you can enjoy and maybe even participate in a celebration of black excellence!

It has been an honour today to experience an historic element of our school’s community in Belgium with year 9.
🇧🇪🇬🇧
We traced the sites from WWI where some of the relatives of students present and “old boys” of our school, who gave their lives, are laid to rest.
🇬🇧🇧🇪
We visited railway dugouts, Bayernwald trench system, Langemarck German cemetery and a memorial to the battle at Passchendaele. Ted and Lois laid wreaths for the school to show our appreciation and respect for the sacrifices made in a long and gruesome conflict - the war to end all wars.
🇧🇪🇬🇧
A truly humbling experience that reminds us of what so many gave for us and what connects us together in society. They will be remembered.

For the moment, our home is PE1 and we’re working on a list of q***r friendly films / TV series to watch during our meet ups. Let us know if you have any suggestions suitable for all ages (max rating 12A). We’ll post which one we’re starting with next week.
