Making a difference beyond the classroom ⚖️🤝

Student volunteers at the University of Bristol Law Clinic work alongside qualified solicitors to provide free legal advice to people who might otherwise struggle to access it, gaining invaluable real-world experience along the way.

A snapshot of Park Street in the 1960s, with the Wills Memorial Building watching over the city then as it does today.

While campus life looks a little different now, especially during the summer months, the character and history of this corner of Bristol continue to endure.

Some members of our Langford Campus community are a little fluffier than others 🐾

Dr Nicola Rooney is a familiar face at Langford – and so is Freddie, her much-loved canine colleague, who spends plenty of time on campus and even has his own 'Registered Teaching Dog' sign on an office door.

Nicola's story is featured in A Bristol Life in this summer's edition of Nonesuch, where she reflects on her connection with Bristol, her work and the journey that's brought her here.

Have a read via the link below – and keep an eye out for Freddie if you're ever passing through Langford!

A glimpse into the University of Bristol's past 📸

This portrait of staff and students includes Professor Lloyd Morgan, who became the University's first Vice-Chancellor in 1909. It's just one of the fascinating snapshots featured in this year's Nonesuch magazine, connecting moments from the University's history with the campus we know today.

This Volunteers’ Week, we're celebrating the incredible contribution of alumni volunteers like Charlie Gunter (BSc 2006, PGCE 2007, MSc 2009).

Pictured here is Wills Hall, a place that has shaped the Bristol experience for generations of students. As Vice-President of the Wills Hall Association, Charlie helps foster the enduring sense of friendship and belonging that has connected generations of Wills residents.

Through his time, enthusiasm and dedication, Charlie is helping to keep alumni connected and ensuring that the Bristol community continues to thrive. Thank you, Charlie!
