‼️ Rant Alert ‼️
I have had 2 Children come down with Hand foot and mouth in the last few days.
I am lucky enough to have worked and still working with families that I can 100% trust. To do this job well, I need to be able to trust parents and they need to be able to trust me.
When a very small minority of families think it is ok to ignore my policies on several occasions which may I add are there to safeguard all children in my setting, lie to me about their child being fine is not ok and breaks all my trust!
I spend a lot of my time with these children and I know them sometimes better than their own parents, so I do know when they are unwell.
Going forward any new families that start with me will no longer get any warnings if they break my trust and ignore my policies, their contract will be terminated with no notice.
I’m sorry that I have had to make this public but I’m fed up of being lied to and policies being ignored time and time again.
I have vulnerable children in my care, one with a hole in their heart that the slightest viral infection can make her very ill, my own child suffers with bad asthma and a simple viral infection will cause him stays in hospital! Parents choose to put their child with a childminder for many different reasons but one reason is because they have a vulnerable child who may not be able to fight off infections, that a more healthier child may do, therefore a childminder might be the best option for them, due to less illnesses going around. That only works when parents keep the child off when unwell.
I completely understand children have colds and viruses all the time and they can become unwell during the day and that’s ok but I don’t appreciate being lied to over and over again causing other children to become very unwell. There’s a really simple solution if you think your child isn’t right, has Calpol in the morning before coming to me or is generally really unwell DO NOT SEND THEM IN‼️
