We know transitions and change can be a difficult and daunting time for our young people.
Transition planning is individualised to our young people at Lufton College and we take great pride in our person centred approach.

Today we welcomed Snowster, a beloved teddy of one of our new students as part of their transition plan.
Snowster had their photo taken around the campus, with some of our staff and even posed for a few photos with our animals, combining a familiar comfort with a new environment for family to share as they prepare for their young person to start their Lufton College journey.

It’s coming home!

We recently had the pleasure of a visit from QPR’s Alfie Lloyd for an afternoon of football fun.

The students (and staff) had a great time showing off their skills, getting some fresh air and exercise.

A big thanks to Alfie for his time and a big thanks to our student, Lenny, for sharing his brother with Team Lufton!

EDUCATIONAL CLOSURE - 24th & 25th June

Dear parents, carers, family & friends,

Lufton College will be closed on Wednesday 24th and Thursday 25th June due to the escalated heat warning currently affecting the area.

The health, safety and well-being of our students and staff are our top priority.

With temperatures forecast to reach unsafe levels in our classrooms, the leadership team has made the difficult decision to close the campus for educational purposes to ensure everyone remains safe and comfortable.

For residential students:
Alternative appropriate cooling activities will be planned in place of education.

For day students:
We kindly ask you to remain at home

We plan to reopen the college on Friday 26th June.

We apologise for the short notice and any inconvenience caused.

If you need any further support, please contact the college on 01935 403120.

Thank you for your continued support.

A big well done to our Duke of Edinburgh students who completed an expedition this weekend and a big thank you to the staff that supported them.

Saturday started by putting up their tents and packing their bags ready to set out on a 3.5 hour journey from the college to Windmill Farm. Encountering closed footpaths, unexpected detours and overgrown areas, showing patience and resilience to overcome these obstacles before returning to college for an afternoon of forest-based activities, including making a tribal headdress, bamboo bead necklace, forest animals and a collaborative totem pole!
In the evening students cooked their own meal on camp stoves and toasted marshmallows over the campfire to make smores before being treated to some great guitar playing from one of our talented students and a singsong around the fire before turning in for the night.

On Sunday, students cooked their own bacon, egg and beans breakfast before heading out for their second walk.
The students were driven to Five Ashes, where they all achieved another challenging 3.5 hour hilly walk, through beautiful undulating countryside to Bagnell Farm and High Wood which was full of huge trees and ranges of foxgloves before returning to college for a well deserved packed lunch and clearing away their equipment.

All students achieved their Duke of Edinburgh expedition goals with 3 fully completing their bronze award and another 3 achieving their practise for their silver expedition which will take place before the end of this term!

The show must go on!

A little rain didn’t dampen our spirits as we welcomed Theater Témoin today to perform ‘Flood’.

Our students took part in a series of workshops this morning then an interactive outdoor show this afternoon highlighting the health of the world’s oceans.

📢 Did You Know?

Lufton College has not one, not two, but THREE campuses, each offering a unique environment to support our students' learning, independence and preparation for adulthood.

🏛️ Lufton Manor – Our main college site, where students access education, therapies, activities and residential provision within beautiful surroundings and extensive grounds.

🏡 Manor Farm – A smaller and a little less busy but equally beautiful campus that is home to many some Lufton students. Manor Farm offers residential accommodation, communal indoor and outdoor spaces, and is currently benefiting from renovation of additional accommodation to further enhance the environment for students.

🐴 The White Horse – Situated within the local community, The White Horse provides accommodation and opportunities for students to develop their skills in real-world experiences in a community setting, helping them build confidence for adult life.

Together, our three campuses provide a range of environments and opportunities, ensuring every student can access the support they need to live extraordinary days, every day.
