Parents and carers of our Y10 students will have received an email today about how students are exploring their post-16 pathways in PSHE this half term.

Students are:

✅ Reflecting on their future goals
✅ Preparing to make the most of upcoming work experience

We’re also using Peerscroller, a platform full of helpful resources and short videos to support these - and many other - discussions at home.

🏆 Congratulations to Team Ecovision! 🏆

We are incredibly proud to celebrate the achievements of Team Ecovision - Evie, Jessie, Indee, Brooke, Keri and Kamile in Y12 - in this year's EKFB Carbon Heroes Competition. 🍀

Working alongside their industry expert mentor, Georgia Broughton, the team competed against five other teams to develop an innovative carbon-saving initiative. Their challenge involved producing a detailed technical report outlining the cost, importance and viability of their proposal, before pitching their idea in a Dragon's Den-style presentation to senior leaders from EKFB.🌟

Yesterday, the team attended the awards ceremony and lunch at the Buckinghamshire Railway Centre, where they were delighted to receive the award for Best Technical Report.

The judges praised the team's professionalism, commenting that from the very first read, the report stood out from the competition thanks to its exceptional structure, presentation and depth of research. Their hard work, technical understanding and attention to detail clearly set the benchmark for others to follow.📝

The judges also highlighted how encouraging it was to see more young women engaging in engineering and STEM projects, while recognising the role of the UTC movement in preparing students so effectively for both professional presentations and technical reporting.🌟

A special congratulations goes to Brooke, who received an individual award from mentor Georgia in recognition of her outstanding contribution to the project - an achievement wholeheartedly supported by her teammates.

This success reflects the dedication, teamwork and professionalism demonstrated by every member of Team Ecovision throughout the competition. We are immensely proud of what they have accomplished and we can't wait to see what they achieve next!

As traffic in and around the circuit increases in the run-up to the British Grand Prix next month, this is an important reminder to students, parents & carers travelling to and from the UTC:

🦺 Students that live in Silverstone village who walk to the UTC, you are reminded to wear a hi vis vest when walking to and from the security gate.
🚲 Students who cycle to the UTC must wear a helmet as well as hi vis vest!
🚗 The carpark should not be used to drop-off or collect students. Please use the area adjacent to the grandstand to drop-off or pick-your child(ren).
🅿️ For those Sixth Formers who drive to the UTC, please park towards the entrance to the carpark, not towards the back fence which is for visitors and staff. Overflow space is available next to the grandstand.
🅿️ Sixth Formers should also only park in dedicated parking bays - please do not park on the ends of the parking ranks.
⚠️ There is a strict 20mph limit once inside the track. We kindly ask all drivers to drive considerately, and to bear in mind that many of our students are learner drivers.
⛔ Silverstone Circuit operates and oversees the perimeter road and will issue circuit bans to anyone found exceeding the speed limit or driving irresponsibly. They will also speak to and report any students on foot/bike not wearing a hi-vis/helmet.

Thank you for your cooperation and for helping us make the area around the UTC safe for students, parents/carers and staff.

🎓Yesterday marked a special milestone for our Y11 students as they celebrated their leavers’ day.

And what a day it was! Students started with a focused GCSE masterclass, followed by a whole-year assembly, shirt signing, photos and an afternoon of sport. It was a day full of energy, reflection and celebration.🎉

🚀In assembly, Mrs Murphy shared an important message: "As you leave us, your journeys will take you in different directions – to our own sixth form, to college, on to apprenticeships. There isn't one finish line that defines success – what will matter is your determination, your integrity, your kindness and the pride you take in everything you do."🚀

These words reflect everything we stand for as a school. Throughout their time with us, this cohort has embodied our values of pride, determination, integrity and kindness – and yesterday was a wonderful reminder of the strong community they have built since coming to the UTC two years ago.✨

From signing shirts and sharing memories, to coming together for an afternoon of sporting activities, the day was about celebrating the Class of 2026 and all they have achieved.💪

🌟Year 11 – it has been a privilege to be part of your journey. We are incredibly proud of all of you and excited to see where your next steps take you.

Huge congratulations to Dawid Sniezko, one of our Y10 students, on some incredible recent racing success!🏁

Over half term, Dawid competed at the prestigious Rotax Racing Club International Finals at Silverstone, taking on top drivers from across the UK and beyond – and secured an outstanding 3rd place finish.

He didn’t stop there… the next day, he raced in the Daytona Milton Keynes Superchamps Round 6, where he delivered another fantastic performance to take 1st place! 🥇

👏A brilliant achievement that reflects his dedication and hard work both on and off the track. We are incredibly proud of you, Dawid!
