Today’s a big news day as our director Joanna moves the cookery school side of Food Nation over to a new called NOURISH Food School
…we’re super excited to see all our food education work be given a nice new home at Nourish.

Here at we’ll be focusing on making sure Men's Pie Club North East and Food Newcastle go from strength to strength

This recipe for our Roasted Vegetable Dhal is our favourite way to use leftovers from a roast dinner including chicken, roasted courgette, squash or carrots. You can also use up any cupboard ingredients including chickpeas and tinned veg!

Tonight was our final class from our Fill The Freezer course at Heaton Baptist Church
We had a little final week challenge for everyone too..make a Curry without a recipe - all success and delish!!!

Today we cooked Sweet &Sour Fakeaway with produce that gets redistributed to community hubs

RECIPE SHARE
- Sprinkle Cauliflower, Courgette & Broccoli with Chinese Five Spice and garlic. Roast at 200C for 30 minutes.
Meanwhile…
- In a saucepan, gently fry 1 red onion cut into big pieces for 10 minutes
- Add a tablespoon of finely chopped root ginger and cook for 1 minute.
- Add 1 tablespoon of ketchup, 1/2 tablespoon of cider vinegar and the juice and chunks of 1 small tin of pineapple.
- Simmer for 10 minutes until hot then add 1tbsp of cornflour mixed with a dash of cold water.
- Heat and stir until thickened then mix in your roasted veg to coat in the sweet and sour sauce.
Serve with rice!
