🌄 Mountain of the Month Alert! 🏔️

Today, A team of 4 from Rope Spoke & Paddle tackled 2 Munros in the Cairngorm Mountain Range as part of October's Mountain of the Month Challenge.

Our adventurers braved the wet weather and it paid off, as they were able to bask in the autumn colours and crisp mountain air. To add to the thrill, we even experienced a light dusting of snow for a short period—making the hike even more magical.

The first Munro was Carn Aosda, standing at 917 meters, is one of the easier Munros, offering a fantastic walk with a relatively gentle ascent. The trail winds through rolling hills, providing hikers with breath-taking views of the surrounding landscapes and a rewarding summit that’s accessible for most fitness levels.

The second Munro was The Cairnwell, at 933 meters, offers a steeper and rockier climb. The path is more challenging, taking adventurers over rough terrain and requiring a bit more stamina. However, the effort is well worth it as you reach the top, where panoramic vistas of the Scottish Highlands await.

To finish the day, they took the chairlift down off The Cairnwell. It was an extra special descent for two of our group members who had never been on a chairlift before!

These two Munros are part of the total 282 Munros to complete, and we're thrilled to have checked these off our list.

Huge shoutout to everyone who joined us and made this hike an epic success!

🌟 Adventure Your Way! 🌟

Last night, we at Rope Spoke and Paddle had the pleasure of guiding the 5th Scout Group on an unforgettable night hike up the Greenock Cut and Hillside Hill! 🌌✨ Together, we explored the historic aqueduct, marvelled at the stunning views of the Firth of Clyde and soaked in the serene beauty of the night. 🌠🏞️

The scouts showed incredible spirit and teamwork, making this adventure truly special! 🏕️💪

What a day it was yesterday on the hills running our first of many "Mountain of the Month" courses. 🪢🪢

Ben Lomond did not disappoint!! 👏🏻

We took 7.5hrs all in and bagged the summit along the way. (The first Munro for some in the group).

Being met with some interesting conditions including driving rain, strong winds, snow and low visibility. Ben Lomond challenged us all and everyone smashed it. 👍🏻

So a huge well done to everyone that came along from our youngest hiker to the oldest. We hope to see you all back again next month 😀

Also a shout out to Calum, who came along to help out on the day as he consolidates his ML Training en-route to Assessment. He definately proved to be a very valuable team member to have on the hill. Thanks Again.
