Omegle has been around for quite a while now (since 2009) and seems to come and go in popularity with children and young people. At the moment it is rising in popularity.
The word to use, in the context of use by children and young people is terrifying.
There's some great information about it on the infographic below.

Yesterday's announcement about the return to school will, inevitably, be causing lots of conflicting feelings and emotions in many of our children (and us!).
There are some ways we can help them process yet another change to schooling. Below are a couple of good infographics. If you need anymore support, please do get in touch.

Autistic girls going undiagnosed due to ‘camouflaging’ behaviour, study says 20/10/2020

Whilst this is pretty clear to those of us who either have neurodiverse children or work with them, this is a step in the right direction for society seeing what we see. Hopefully education, health and families can start to work together better for these girls.

Hopefully one day no parent will hear the words "well they're fine in school" again.

Today is World Mental Health Day.
If you are struggling, do it - ask for help - make today the day you do it!
Phone a friend or someone you trust, write a letter if you can't bring yourself to say it out-loud.
But do it. It could save your life.
There are some support numbers on the second picture - if you need ro, and feel able to - give one a ring.
You are loved.

Lovely morning working in a truly wonderful primary school. My new laptop sleeve had it's first outing and was a hit with the young person I was working with...along with my Jurassic Park laptop stickers!

Many of us are neuro-typical professionals with only an academic knowledge of autism (including working with neuro-diverse people), we must be careful to support but not judge. Provide strategies that may help but not presume that we know better.
We must remember that we can empathise but not necessarily sympathise. And it so important to remember that every person's experience is unique.

Please be aware. It could be extremely traumatic for a child or indeed adult to come across this video.
Don't forget that both TikTok and Facebook are not meant to be used by children under 13 years of age.

A timely reminder. Anger is a pretty grim emotion to try and sit on and work with as an adult (we don't always manage it, do we?!) let alone for a child or young person who is trying to learn who they are and how they will respond to any given situation.
How can you support a child or young person who is finding managing their anger challenging?
If this is something you need further support with, we have nearly 20 years of working with children and young people in this situation. Please do not hesitate to contact us.
