Our Reception children recently enjoyed a wonderful visit to Kington’s Small Breeds Farm Park. We had a fantastic time meeting lots of different creatures, including goats, pigs, donkeys, chickens, ducks, peacocks, owls, rabbits, guinea pigs and a 40-something year old turtle!

The staff and pupils at Lord Scudamore Academy would like to thank Owen Pell for their kind donation of a large drainage pipe. We are also extremely grateful that they delivered it to the school and carried it into place for us.

We have been looking for one of these for quite some time, so we are thrilled to finally have one in our Forest School site! The children have already had lots of fun climbing on/crawling through it and using it to make dens!

Reception enjoyed a lovely visit to Growing Local CIC . The children loved planting seeds, searching for little creatures in the soil, making their own salad dressing, tasting herbs, salad leaves and vegetables, pulling out weeds and learning about the compost heap. We also enjoyed a picnic in the sunshine!

Reception took advantage of a recent dry, sunny day and headed into our fabulous Eco Garden! The children made good use of the available resources as they developed their own play and adventures alongside friends.

Our on-site Eco Garden is such a wonderful environment to promote social, physical, problem solving and communication skills!

What a fabulous World Book Week we had in Reception! A trip to the library, a book character treasure hunt, dress-up day on World Book Day, and lots of play and stories based on the work of Julia Donaldson!

Reception have managed to keep cool during today’s heatwave, with a little help from a nice cold foot bath and a yummy ice cream!
