Sap-R We meet every three months at a range of locations, including Aston University, Oxford University and Warwick University, and typically discuss two papers.

The Strategy as Practice Review (SAP-R) Group was established in August 2011 by Richard Whittington, Sotirios Paroutis and Gary Burke on behalf of the Strategy-as-Practice international network (SAP-IN). This group seeks to emulate the successes of the OTREG group in creating a supportive, friendly and stimulating forum where international scholars, with a common interest in the practice of strate

gy, can come together to share ideas to help authors develop their papers and address reviewer comments. Papers (and reviewer comments) are distributed to the group prior to the meeting so that ALL participants can scrutinize the manuscripts and come to the sessions with very detailed ideas on how the scholars might improve their manuscripts. The sessions provide a vibrant intellectual discussion for all concerned and are followed by an evening dinner. If you would like to be part of the SAP-REG mailing list, please send a request to [email protected]. Because our purpose is to help authors develop high quality papers in a small group, please understand that we will give priority for participation to those with experience in the revise and resubmit process, as authors, reviewers or editors. We encourage authors in revision processes to offer their papers to the group, but similarly we will prioritize those with experience as contributors to the group and who are working with high quality journal submissions.

The first Strategy-as-Practice Review Group (SAP-R) meeting took place on 18 October, at New College, Oxford. We discussed two papers in progress at top-tier-journals, with attendant editorial/reviewer feedback: the first, by Julia Balogun and Kathryn Fahy; the second by Loizos Heracleous and Sotirios Paroutis. We had twelve participants, from France, Italy, Sweden and Switzerland, as well as the UK.

We have provisional plans to repeat the event in April at Warwick Business School. Please let Gary ([email protected]), Sotirios ([email protected]) and Richard ([email protected]) know if you expect to have a suitable paper and journal feedback available just before that time. We are happy to discuss both ‘revise and resubmits’ and ‘rejects’ – we hope that SAP-R can help in either case! We welcome suggestions about organization too.

In the meantime, many thanks to Julia, Kathryn, Loizos and Sotirios for getting us started with two excellent papers. Looking forward to seeing their papers in print soon!
