have been busy over the past few days delivering Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) training to a group of local clinicians πŸš¨πŸš‘

The 2-day course involved some great trauma care lectures followed by a number of skill stations covering:

β€’ Catastrophic bleeding management (including tourniquets and haemostatic products) 🩸

β€’ Airway management (including essential and advanced airway skills) πŸ—£οΈ

β€’ Breathing management (including needle thoracentesis and finger thoracostomy) 🫁

β€’ Circulation management (including EZIO, KTD, splinting and drugs) πŸ«€

β€’ Disability management (including head and spinal trauma and discussions around the EXIT Project) 🧠

β€’ Exposure management (including temperature control) ❄️

All of which were built into contextualised simulations (including traumatic cardiac arrest)

have been delivering the Norfolk County Council Emergency First Aid for Transport course to a group of local taxi drivers πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§πŸ©Ή

Throughout the course, candidates have developed essential life-saving skills, including:
