After Easter Holidays, I’ll have 1 tuition slot available- Tuesdays, 4 pm (could start a little earlier.)
Week commencing 8th June, I’ll have 4 GCSE slots available, various parts of the week, as Yr 11 exams will be completed.
Week commencing 15th June another 3 tutoring slots open up due to A-Level exams finishing.

Christmas creative writing ideas for the festive period:
1. Describe your least favourite Christmas food, without naming it. The person reading it should be able to work out what it is.
2. Collate some Christmas themed images. Give the title ‘A Tall Tale* at Christmas’ and let the kids run with it.
*a story with fanciful element to it.
3. You’ve left your Christmas shopping to the very last minute. You get to TK Maxx 1 hr before it closes on Christmas Eve. Narrate that hour.
Good for adults and children alike. If using with Children (of any age) just let them write for the joy of it. It’s really liberating to write and it NOT be assessed in some way.

I was utterly spoiled in a final session with one of my Yr 11 tutees yesterday. The whole family are just lovely, and I feel lucky to have spent time in their company.
Now, how to learn not to kill an orchid (it’s BEAUTIFUL) as I’m NOT green fingered AT ALL.

Getting to the time of year as a tutor when you are soon teaching your final sessions with your tutees.
It’s been great to see how confident (& relieved no doubt) they seem to be now they’ve got a week of exams under their belts and today GCSE English Literature is done and dusted.
This end point always creeps up on you, ALWAYS. I have a strange mix of sentimentality, pride, a bit of relief that exam season is nearly done, and hope for an equally lovely bunch of tutees next year.

This is for the benefit of the two tutees I was tutoring last night, who, bless them, saw me a bit ‘unravelled’ due to my kitten Errol being AWOL. Errol has had an adventure… (he came home around 7pm last night).
