Changes in the 2026 handbook include:

• A new focus on inclusion

• New financial training expectations for trustees

• Stricter rules for appointing chief financial officers

• Enhanced requirements for procurement and purchasing

• Tighter controls for executive pay, pensions, benefits and severance payments
