This course is designed to go through the key academic skills and interview techniques needed for both the SFP and ACF.

Contents of the Course:

1. Critical Appraisal Techniques
2. Understanding Key Statistics
3. Presenting a Paper Efficiently
4. Why you deserve the ACF/SFP?
5. How to Sell Yourself at Interview
6. Leadership and Management
7. Education and Teaching
8. Deanery-specific bespoke Mock Interviews (at a later date that suits you and your allocated tutor)

You will also be emailed a paper in advance that we will practise appraising together after you have learnt the skills. You will also received another paper to appraise for your mock interview.

Each delegate will receive a course book and bespoke mock interview with feedback.

Those who are applying to deaneries with clinical interviews or teaching/leadership presentations will have individual help on this in their mock interviews.

It may be the first time you’ve had interview since when you applied for medical school! Or, you may need to brush up on your interview skills! Whatever it is, this course should equip you with experience and practise to instil skills you can take forward for your interview!

🌟 SFP WSQ REVIEW AND INTERVIEW COURSE - SUNDAY 6th November 🌟

Our flagship course is back this year! With over 95% success rate and 100% student satisfaction our course will cover all aspects of the interview process and includes WSQ review by our current SFP and ACF doctors who scored in the top 5% of their application cohorts - from all backgrounds - clinical (Medicine and Surgery), education and leadership!

The course will run from 10:30am until approx 17:00pm. An outline of the course is as follows:

1. How to master panel interviews
2. Critically appraising papers and statistics
3. Clinical/ethical scenarios
4. Understanding GMC guidance
5. Answering the common ‘lifestyle’ questions
6. Specialist talks delivered by doctors for every thread of the AFP programme (clinical research, leadership and medical education/teaching).

Panel members will include:

2. Mr Adam Arshad - ACF ST2 Trauma and Orthopaedics, previous SFP Paediatrics at University College London

Each student will also receive 2 deanery specific bespoke interview with feedback (you will be allocated this on the day and then your mock interviews can be done in your own time with your specific tutor)

We’re delighted that the General Medical Council is set to approve a new course at Chester Medical School (tag page), developed with the support of WMS, which will see it producing doctors to help transform health care across Cheshire, Wirral, Shropshire and beyond. The new medical students will start at the University of Chester in September 2022 and will follow a four-year graduate entry programme, based on our MB ChB at Warwick.
