Carlos Castaneda wrote about his interactions in dreaming, with the sabre-toothed tiger.
He had been taught a collection of movements that embody the energy of this ferocious being.
He taught this form to his apprentices and they in turn, taught us this collection of movements and breaths.
Through practice and dreaming with this animal I have seen that we have this ability to shift our awareness and learn from our observations.
This sequence of movement and breaths, called the Sabre-Toothed Tiger of Intent, sends a beam of awareness into this life-form and allows us to resonate with it and imbibe its qualities.
I learned of the sabre-toothed tiger at school along with dinosaurs. I always imagined it to be huge, as animals seemed to be at that time.
However though it did prey on huge herbivores, it was not large. Usually it weighed from 50 to 100 kilos, around the size of dogs.
Its prowess in hunting was not acquired through brawn, rather through speed, accuracy, intelligence and strategy.
With these qualities, it becomes edifying and empowering to examine this being and through kinaesthesia feel its attributes.
Yes, it was fierce and ruthless, yet beyond its fierce-some looks was a being that killed with expertise and surgical precision.
In a world where many don’t readily come into their power, the Sabre-Toothed Tiger of Intent, is invaluable for expressing, the being we truly are, beyond the socialised and habitual personalities we are bound to.
If you are in the U.K. this summer, check us out at Sundara and Rainbow Camp and hopefully other events, where we will be sharing this practice.
Or simply message me I am available to teach this and the practices that go along with it.
Not only will you learn a form that is incredibly useful, you’ll have fun learning it. Come play.
Align with the power of this incredible being and use its strengths to express who you really are.
